In hind sight, I bet Macc would take the $8M he gave Cro and pump it into a new long term contract for Wilkerson. Yes, Wilk would be overpaid, but the 'over' part would come from the $8M he wasted on Cromartie so so what. I guess that's what I'm getting at. We spent SO much money on new guys, we have no dough left for our proven, home grown talent.
We may. Let's see how it plays out. I can't imagine that Mac wouldn't want to re-sign Mo, since he is the best player on our team. It just depends upon how much Mo wants, if he wants to remain a Jet for the rest of his career, and if he's willing to be creative in getting a long term contract. Since the cap will be going up and a number of contracts will be coming off the cap following this season, they should be able to get something done if Mo is reasonable.
