I don't see Leon getting as many RUSHING yards as some others are predicting because think he will be getting used more as a receiver out of the backfield (screens, dump-offs, etc.). It would not surprise me if he as more receiving yards than rushing yards next year.
I have an uneasy feeling about Jones, and think that by the end of the year Leon will have more rushing yards than him.
I have a similiar feeling but I think he will still end up with more then Leon. Not the numbers I see being posting in this thread though. Maybe 1050 yards at most. Of course major upgrades to the right side of the line could add a little to that. The Jets will be behind in just about every game they play so the run will be a second thought. (Let the bashing begin)
I see Thomas Jones getting around 17 carries a game and 1100 yards next year and Leon getting about 9 carries a game for 600 yards. Houstin will have a few yards once in a while. Both have good hands out of the backfield so we can throw to either, but TJ id be surprised if TJ went for 1300+. But having said that, I'll be confident in our backfield entering the season.
I think that's certainly possible as well. Jones never had much of a career until a few years ago when Lovie Smith got things together in Chicago, and could quite possibly be someone who benefitted from great coaching and a great personnel management - or it could be because of horrible coaching and personnel mgmt in his previous 2 organizations. I think how well Jones does will be up to Jones and our line, but I also think that Leon could be the hungrier player, and possibly the more capable player in terms of explosive play ability. It will be interesting to see how the success of one can be attributed to the presence of the other.
