I don't recall the second one, but the first sack was a sack in technical terms only - Sanchez went on the run on third and short (admittedly because he couldn't see a receiver and was coming under pressure), dived in an attempt to make the first down and was tackled before the LOS. It wasn't a failure of protection.
Mark Sanchez long ball stats (the numbers at the end are comp-att per game): 2009 - 15 GP 21-30: 04-17 (1 TD - 5 INT) - 0.27-1.13 31-40: 03-09 (2 TD - 1 INT) - 0.20-0.60 40-99: 03-13 (1 TD - 1 INT) - 0.20-0.87 2010 - 16 GP 21-30: 09-30 (5 TD - 1 INT) - 0.56-1.88 31-40: 04-16 (0 TD - 2 INT) - 0.25-1.00 40-99: 01-13 (1 TD - 1 INT) - 0.06-0.81 2011 - 5 GP 21-30: 05-11 (3 TD - 2 INT) - 1.00-2.20 31-40: 00-02 (0 TD - 0 INT) - 0.00-0.40 40-99: 00-00 (0 TD - 0 INT) - 0.00-0.00
This could be bc of the fact that Buffalo DOES throw the ball farther than 10 yards, so the pats couldnt stack everyone in a 20 yards box and send more blitzers like they did against us, bc if they did, they would have been torched even moreso. Teams that play against will and have just put everyone in a 10-20 yard box bc we arent throwing more than that. Because they know they can do this, all the underneath and button hooks that schotty loves, get no where. Also another reason why teams can blitz us more- we are confining ourselves enabling them to cover our WR's and TE's with less defenders
without a doubt the most outrageous thing ive ever seen... how do u not take any shots to Plax or holmes... and im still waiting for a slant-n-go from holmes... no creative thinking whatsoever for schittenheimdick... horrible. just horrible
True, the line wasn't stellar but it wasn't a shit show like against Baltimore - definitely good enough protection to warrant a couple downfield throws. It's like our offense drove into a lake of wet concrete recently
