I really hope Favre doesn't think he can dick around two franchises with his mind-fuck bullshit.

If he hesitates at all, I think we move on. Time doesn't wait for anyone...and no NFL franchise is going to sit on their hands waiting for a 40 year old to decide if he wants to play or not.

If they play to there potential, the Jets absolutely can beat the Dolphins. We haven't seen that in a month though.

Realistically I don't see the Pats or Jags losing either. The Pats do have to play in Buffalo though, and they are much better w/Edwards at QB. We're all in with a pair of tens vs. a pair of Jacks and a pair of Queens. Two outs, and I'm praying for the miracle on the river.

I really don't believe Favre ever did any "mind-fuck" bullshit. A lot of athletes have a hard time letting go, and a lot of them let go too late. They live for the competition and there entire adult lives basically revolve around the games that they play. It's a difficult decision for them to hang it up and call it a career. I really cannot blame someone for taking there time or changing there mind. A lot of people disagree w/me but that's my take.

I also don't think anyone will have to worry about Favre next year. He really seems like he's made up his mind to me. That's just my take though.

I completely agree with that. However, a professional athlete needs to realize that a team needs to move on and make decisions. If you're not going to commit to playing, a team has every right to move on without you. The Packers did that

Oh no, I completely agree with you on that. Shit, you don't even need to be a PRO athlete to realize how hard it is to let go of a sport. I've dislocated my shoulder 6 times since I last threw a real pitch, and yet I'm still trying to fix this shit like I might be able to do something with it later.

I also agree that he's probably gone. He's tired, he's probably hurt, his brain has to feel fucking fried having to talk to NY media every week, and you can just see that he feels like it's time to stop before it goes really poorly.

Still, it wouldn't be the first time someone said all this about Favre...like someone said they did his farewell on MNF like 4-5 years ago...he can't hesitate this time because IMO Mangini and Tanny will then make the decision for him by moving on.

i honestly think his arm is hurt, he will go to the doctor on tuesday and find out whats up on thursday then get a second opinion on friday and will make the announcement early next week.

i kinda wish he had gotten the arm looked at when it actually started bothering him so we could have sat him down if necessary and had someone out there who could throw the ball with some umph. but he is a tough guy and will not lay down for anyone. and i cant say i blame him for that.

Jets need to make the decision for him by moving on and finding their next QB. He either retires or plays for another team, either one is fine by me.

If his arm is hurt to the point where it's hurting the team he should not play.

^ Not that the consecutive game streak was a factor at all....

I hope he comes back. He is not on the field when the opposing qb has 15 seconds to find a receiver. etc... Let's find a big fast receiver in the off season and give it another go. Yes he has made mistakes that is for sure but smarter people than me should be able to look at the tape and figure out why deep throws are not successful.

Depends. I think he will wait and see if this team can slip into the playoffs: Then I think his decision could be based on the phyisical after the year is out. He has been noting, until yesterday, that the shoulder has been soar fora few weeks. However, he admitted that it actually felt great in yesterday's practices, and reports claim he seemed to have some zip back on his throws.

We'll see. But I think Idealy he would like to come back with a full offseason with the jets, and especialyl given his poor play, give the jets owner what he wanted in giving an extra year so he can prove that hey: I can still play well, then ride off in the sunset.

However, if a MRI reveals anything after the season, I'm sure he'll just hang it up.

Actually, I doubt it. Your in the playoff hunt, and Favre has palyed through pain before, and was allowed to practice via the trainers... so?

Seriously, he wasn't even listed on the injury reports. Meh. You don't just get benched for playing poor when you are in the hunt. When McNabb got benched this year, it sure seemed as if Philly was completely out of it. No one could predict the streak they put together and beating the teams they beat.

Meh. Favre is proud of the streak, but wont force himself to play if it really bugged him. It's just soar, and I KNEW this was coming.

REMEMBER: He didn't do his normal workout this offseason, and had very little practice time to get in a groove. His body was just not prepared for the season. If a MRI comes clean, I think he'll give it a month and try to decide quick. As a favre fan, I want him back. Plus, I don't think the other Brett is ready yet, Clemens doesn't appear to be the answer, and there are so many other areas of concern on this football team that having Favre return would almost be a relief this offseason so they can address other areas: Such as the Defense, WR position, and Coaching issues.

He will drag this out the entire offseason until he reaches the point in which he determines he has maximum drama coverage & that everyone who wasnt paying attention has now formulated an opinion & after the team has made no less than 3 separate technically perfect public "beg" performances.

Then he'll wait about 2 weeks and give us a hint.
