Thats ideal. It will all rely on our QB situation.

If this is a year of transition and if it going to take time, why are we going with a 33 year old RB coming off major surgery? Shouldn't we looking at future options at RB instead of pretending he's the Curtis Martin of 1998?

Rob, your the man, Go Jets! As long as we don't open our season the way we did last year in Kansas City, I will be happy.

I have a feeling Curtis ain't going to be shouldering a huge load. Maybe 200 - 250 carries.

Honestly, I don't see anyone else on the roster with future starting potential. I think Cedric Houston is vastly overrated by the members of this board and Derrick Blaylock has only shown that he is at his best when running behind the Chiefs line, backing up Priest Holmes.

Leon Washington, on the other hand, I love. I think he will give us great energy on the field. But I would be lying if I said I thought he could start for us in the future. I think he will be an excellent 3rd down back or scatback. Someone we can bring in to change the pace and bust off a 20 yard run (something Curtis hasn't done in like 12 years). I think he will bring a certain electricity to the team that our dinosaurs on offense have lacked in the recent past. However, I think he will be at his best with horse in front of him shouldering the main load and wearing down defenses, in this case Curtis Martin.

If Chad is the old Chad, Matin the old Martin, Coles the old Coles, then we can have 12 wins this year. Will all that happen? Not likely, but thats how good we CAN be. Most likely we will be between 4 and 7 wins

With our relatively weak schedule I think the Jets can surprise a lot of people especially if they can generate some momentum early on. If we can win our opener at Tennessee meeting the Pats in New York in week two could really set the tone for the season. Mangini is desperate to turn over New England and will have this game highlighted on his schedule, why be scared of this washed up outfit? I have us at 6 and 2 heading into the bye and then we really have to get rolling.

I will keep you in mind while we play the bills, and i'll make sure to get back to you after the game because the jets will win this game.

Very sensible realistic post....................I do not carry any expectations into this season. I hope the Jets play well, but I expect we will lose our share.
