Yeah, it gets pretty old watching NFL or ESPN and every time a receiver and the Jets are mentioned like the Marshall trade or drafting a WR the first thing every single f'n time is "well, who's gonna throw it to him". Makes me sick.
Comparing collge statistics to pro statistics is not apples to apples...It is a much faster game in the NFL
http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york-je...n-geno-smith-is-unusual-historically-speaking 3. Geno versus Mariota: I wonder if the new coaching staff would feel this confident about Smith if they had drafted Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston. Gailey was asked if he viewed Smith as a better option than Mariota and Winston, and he ducked. I know this: The Jets never were going to pick Mariota at No. 6; he wasn't among the top six on their draft board. Neither was Winston, from what I'm told. Did anyone else see this? cimini claims we wouldn't have drafted mariota or Winston if they fell to us. I wasn't as high on Mariota as some at 6, but definitely surprised by Winston. Is this more an indictment of this year's top tier QBs or further support for Geno?
If available PLEEEEAAAAASE take a chance on Manziel. Nothing to lose. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/05/29/browns-offense-appears-to-be-moving-on-from-manziel/
There's a lot to lose. Wasted money and cap space, wasted time, a distraction. He is never going to hold up in the NFL, even if he can conquer his personal demons and ego issues.
If Cimini ever wrong? Makes no sense since the Jets and Mac visited with both and had both here. Bowles also said pedraft they wanted a quarterback Can you imagine the fan reaction if they passed on either Winston or Mariota?? So this rumor is absolute BS, Even if they both didnt fit Gaileys "scheme" they would be BPA and MM would have grabbed the player SMH
Too soon to tell. Cleveland is one of the worst organizations in the sport right down there with Oakland. Mike Pettine comes from the Rex Ryan school of how to mismanage the QB position/get fired. LOL Great QBs talked up Manziel before the draft Aikman, Favre. Jim Harbaugh had this to say about him: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...rbaugh-id-welcome-challenge-of-taking-manziel Before the draft I didn't think Manziel was a protypical franchise QB he's too small, his playing style would get him killed in the NFL look what happened to RG III. I think in the right situation (which Cleveland obviously isn't) with the right coaches he could be a Russell Wilson type. Teach him how to manage the game, protect himself etc. He made mistakes no doubt about it from what I've read this offseason he fixed those problems is going in the right direction. The Jets should take a chance on him if he becomes available.
If he has "fixed" his problems, I'd be OK with taking a flyer on him. The problem is, if he's an alcoholic, and I'm not saying that he is, but I think there's a chance that he is, the problem is never fixed. He will have to deal with it every day of his life. There are also a lot of immaturity issues there. Then there's his size. Maybe he truly has learned and grown up after his rough rookie season, but I've seen a lot of players with attitudes like his that don't learn and change easily if at all. He has talent. There's no denying that. I'd just want Mac to thoroughly vet him before taking time with him. If Geno shits the bed again this season, and Petty either looks like he needs to sit for another year, or isn't going to be the answer, then I'd be more willing to take a chance on Manziel.
