Awesome video. Why was Sam throwing the ball in half a second? Those were pretty clean NFL pockets...
Everything is so sped up for him.. we legit David Carr’d him man. I think his clock is so fast with a combination of having a shit coach is why we are seeing this. Someone has to coach this kid...
Becton looks very good so far Better than my favorite rookie receiver 2 games into the season Still 14 games left, but Becton is off to a great start no doubt
it'll never happen cause NFL, but at this point becton should win OROTY. it'll probably go to lamb though because WRs are flashy and LTs aren't
Meh just feel like they wanted to get the ball out quick against the niners. Ran a ton of short stuff in addition to it. I wanna see Gase open it up if he has the WR’s to make it happen. And they need to run behind Mt Becton. That one play where he just made a gigantic hole only for Gore to run for two yards just shows the Jets need to go with some youth and to have someone have the bounce to get to that point to break off big gains. Gore js a nice change of pace back but that’s it
Lamb or Burrow for sure. If Baldy and these analysts on Twitter keep talking Becton up though he can definitely get some votes. The moment Bosa + Thomas were knocked out they should have taken shots right then and there. Gase said he wanted to do it in the 2H, but the gameplan should have changed instantly. Not sure why he tries to stick to script so hard. You can't predict what's going to happen that far in advance.
Possibly because he had no fit receivers left? Being generous and giving Gase some benefit of the doubt where none is deserved.
Great story thus far but as soon as he reaches all pro status and HOF potential? JD will trade him for "more picks" while refusing to pay him and trade him to a real SB contender; because he rather save $ than build around our best talent.
The Jets may be the worst team in the NFL through two weeks. They may have been overwhelmed by the Bills and injury-depleted 49ers. They may be going nowhere but south. But there is one reason for optimism. Rookie left tackle Mekhi Becton looks like an absolute keeper, several experts believe. Take former Jets and Patriots offensive lineman Damien Woody, for instance. “I would venture to say he’s one of the best OTs in the game already,” the ESPN analyst tweeted. He was quote-tweeting a video posted by the NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger of Becton’s impressive highlights on Sunday against the 49ers when he showed Becton more than holding his own against Nick Bosa before Bosa got hurt and other plays that showed Becton dominating the man across from him. “.@nyjets only a suggestion. Become a ‘left handed’ team and run behind ‘Highway 77’ He makes grown men disappear @BigTicket73 #BaldysBreakdowns,” Baldinger tweeted. I would venture to say he’s one of the best OTs in the game already https://t.co/4z4igzrXDq — Damien Woody (@damienwoody) September 22, 2020 Geoff Schwartz, a former longtime NFL offensive lineman who works for Sirius XM, had a similar take. “Mekhi Becton has elite recovery skills in pass pro,” he tweeted in a video of Becton going up against Bosa. Pro Football Focus rated Becton as the No. 1 offensive rookie so far, grading him out at 79.7.
so far it feels good having drafted a potential all-pro LT. finally makes up for the Munoz and Pace cluster fucks. only took a few decades. LOL. already makes JD first draft a success.
Don't forget Walter Jones. That jackass Parcells passed up both Pace AND Jones in the '97 draft. What a dumbass!
RIP Gale Sayers! For those of you who never got to see him play, go to the NFL forum and the thread RIP Gale Sayers.. There's a link there to an article that has a video portion that shows clips of Sayers. Or look him up on YouTube. In his day running the ball was the name of the game and he averaged 5.0 ypc. He was grace personified. His vision, instincts, elusiveness were nothing short of amazing, and he was faster than most anyone else in the game including CBs and WRs.
Plenty of Becton threads but this is definitely my favorite thread with all the breakdowns and clips.
I don't think it's as much as you think. That shove definitely helped, but Alex Lewis was supposed to help make sure Becton secured his block and then get up into the 2nd level on that LB.
Well to be fair that’s what Gase’s offense is all about. He wants a quick controlled passing attack built around both the QB processing info quickly & getting rid of the ball in under 2 seconds. Sam is not a good fit for this philosophy. In fact he couldnt be worse for it.
