Acad, we don't ask for much just stuff one of these guys in a locker alla Steve Serby Something tells me that Mehta would look good stuffed into a locker.
you mean the 2 people mac found and signed to a 1 year deal to fill holes, who had career years last season they never duplicated before, he didn't overpay to keep them? sounds like a good move to me.
he's a 2 down back with little to no receiving ability and isn't anything special. dion lewis and james white and rex burkhead were just as good as him in that offense for the past many years. just becuase brayd and belichick are so good, doens't make the rest of their players good. they win obviously but who leaves NE and does good? every hyped player they have that walks for a huge contract fails and whoever they plug in to replace them, plays well. it's all coaching and having a top QB of all time. they have 0 1st round picks on their roster that were drafted from 2013 to 2017
Yeah until the Jets need a game winning 55 plus yard field goal. Or maybe you forgot about the bums they had before that missed chip shots.
i'd prefer it if it didn't come down to that with the additions of osemele, bell, and crowder on offense and sam and herndon taking a year 2 jump and Q and anderson being healthy. this is the best offense we've had since like 1998. kickers are fickle. lets not forget myers didn't get resigned and had no interest after a down year. mac took a flyer and it paid off. he likely won't repeat it and wasn't worth 7 mil a year he got. only like 2 kickers have consistently been top tier for their career over a decade. the rest seem to come and go and have up and down years. myers missed a lot of FGs 2017 73.3% 2016 79.4% career 84.3% his season with the jets was a fluke. why do you think he was a free agent in the 1st place and signed so cheap to a 1 year deal catanzaro 2017 (with the jets) 83.3% career 83.8% obsessing over a kicker getting a stupidly high deal after 1 good fluke year is insanity
Seattle thought enough to sign him and they are leap years ahead of the Jets in every department. I guess in your world a guy can't get better. His 2016 and 2017 stats are his shelf life? Good thing he didn't listen to you and got better. Imagine that a guy getting better. A rare feat around Jets world.
I want Robbie to stay out of trouble. An errant pass is an "accident." There's no such thing as an accident with a flying fist.
We can always bring IK Enemkpali back for one day. He can sock up Mehta and retire as a Jet. That's really the only way he has a shot at The Ring of Honor...
I like fans like you. The jets haven’t won a championship in half a century yet can do no wrong. Ah, optimism Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Trust me....I've been a fan for the whole half century...and then some. Some fucker named Ralph Waldo Emerson said it's the trip not the destination. Probably a Pats fan from the sound of it...
He didn't. Unless you take Manish Mehta's tweets as fact. Whole lot of swirl based purely on nothing. Mac was fired. We move on. Gase states he had no part in it and Christopher Johnson called him to tell him. It is what it is. On the note of Gase, early reports of how he is running his OTA practices are positive. Get off the ledge, and stop getting sucked into the media swirl.
Not sure he's saying they can do no wrong. I think he's just observing what is going on, as opposed to fans like you who think everything they do is wrong. Ah, pessimism.
seattle is living (barely) on a few good drafts from like 8 years ago. they have been shedding talent due to the cap for a good 3-5 years now and haven't replaced any of it. them paying 7 mil guaranteed for a kicker is insane. mac also fleeced them gettign a 2nd rounder and kearse for richardson. richardson played 1 season for them and had 1 sack in 15 games. kearse played 2 years for us and had 1200 yards and 6 TDs in 30 games plus we got a 2nd rounder. they also traded away a 1st for jimmy graham who played 3 season there and 2 of them weren't very good at all.
You left out a Super Bowl win. When was the last time the Jets sniffed one of those? Or to make it even simpler a playoff appearance. Not a playoff win just an appearance.
i'm aware but again that was built on a roster form a couple of really good drafts. their 2010-2012 drafts were amazing and because of that they won a SB in 2013 and made it again but lost in 2014 but they should have won that too had it not been for a dumb playcall at the end. in those 3 drafts this is who they got okung, earl thomas, tate, chancelor, carpenter, wright, sherman, maxwell, irvin, wagner, russell wilson. in 3 drafts they got a pro bowl FQB, 4 probolwers in the secondary (legion of boom) a WR1, and 2 above average tackles to bookend the o-line and some good pas rushing DEs, and Lbers. since then they have shed talent, drafted poorly, and haven't been able to replace that and made bad trades. still they are a 9-10 win team consistently thanks to wilson and a solid D and good o-line but they aren't pushing for a superbowl again anytime soon. their current GM/moves are nothing to model a team around
The Seahawks drafting has gotten better in the last few years. I wouldn't be shocked if they win their division this year. Besides, 7 playoff appearances with 2 Super Bowl trips and 1 Super Bowl win this decade is a run most here would love for the Jets to have.
Possibly. Unfortunately, the evidence is on my side. Show me the money, as they say, and I’d be less pessimistic Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There's reason for pessimism. I think as of this minute we have upgraded the GM position, linebacker, running back and guard. Sam is a year older and will get better preparation. I think we will have a very good scheme on both sides of the ball. The negative is we are probably still the 3rd most talented teams in the division. That's why canning the GM was a great move.
