Would you rather me pretend that he did NOT have a good game? Do I look like a UNC fan to you?

Would your standards for him be lower if we simply sucked and earned that 4th pick on our own, like we did last season?

I don't understand the question. Sorry, again, too much baby powder.

    Can you rephrase?

When you're up against Matt Birk and Steve Hutchinson a majority of the game and play that well, I was shocked. Props to DRob.

Dude how dumb do you feel with this thread? DRob is probably our defensive MV this year.. Rhodes is having a better individual year but noone has had more of an impact in the D;s turnaround than DRob..

Not as dumb as someone who thinks that DRob should be the MVP while admitting that Rhodes is having the better year.

Robertson was the 4th pick overall that year. I'm asking if you would hold him to the same obscenely high standard you do, if the Jets had simply sucked the season before and we earned the 4th pick, rather than trading two first rounders.

No, I want him to be worth what we gave up for him, and not where he got picked. It's one thing to have the 4th pick because you sucked, and you pick who you think is best. It's another when you didn't TOTALLY suck the prior year, have multiple picks, and then trade up for one guy who fails to make an immediate, definitive impact.

NTs don't make an immediate impact. People get too worked up over draft placement, anything can happen with a draft pick. I'm happy with D-Rob and Nugent both.

And no one had more of a negative impact on the defense's inability to pick up the 3-4 until recently.

Rhodes is clearly the Jet's defensive MVP this season.

If D-Rob continues to progress from the point he's at now he has a chance to turn into an impact nose tackle. Rhodes is already an impact safety.

So the MVP should be awarded to someone who is not the best defensive player?

The MVP should be awarded to the Most Valuable Player, noone has had more of an impact on the D's turnaround than DRob..

    touche....

  18. Simple way to solve this...

    Defensive MVP- Rhodess
    Most improved player- D rob

BTW, since the bye week, D rob is right behind Rhodes in terms of value to this defense.

I'd agree with that statement, but you can make a huge case for Bryan Thomas.

I think Kurt has it right. Since the Bye, Robertson has definitely shown tremendous improvement, but Rhodes has been there all season. No way he doesn't get Defensive MVP.
