This ^ is how I view Lance Moore. But I do think that these Charger WR's are good athletes with skill, I watched a lot of Charger games last year and I seen flashes of stardom from Floyd and Naanee at times. BTW Jets FA priority is about to come on ESPN First Take Here's my second teir of FA WR's: Jacoby Jones Devin Aromashadu Donte' Stallworth TJ Houshmandzadeh Mark Clayton
Thats why I went for Braylon, they're pretty even but Braylon actually wants to be here and Holmes doesn't really care except for the $$$.
Keep an eye out on Friday for where Holmes is. If he's not in New York he's probably jumping ship. If he's in town for the 72-hour grace period to sign our own then he's staying. Tanny's offer will be solid and Rex will pull some Jedi-mind shit. Rex should just look him dead in the eye and say "Do you want to spend the rest of your career on the East Coast Raiders or do you want to own New York City?" And he should do it while wearing a "Who the Fuck is John Beck?" T-shirt.
They aren't even when they have different skill sets. If Braylon wasn't selected 3rd overall, and was selected 25th like Holmes, he'd want the $$$ just as much as Holmes does. That's the difference in their mindsets right now.
If we want Santonio Tanny has a little less than a week to find a pound of the finest weed the northeast has to offer. If we play our cards right we can get Tone really baked and have him sign for $600k/season with McDonalds chicken nugget based incentives.
Santonio is a better WR than Braylon, that is if you were to break the position down into its relative categories Santonio gets the nod. So with that said lets break the rest of it down: Cost - Braylon (he will come a cheaper price than Holmes) Desire to be a Jet - Braylon (this is just an assumption but one I think at least 75% of TGG would also make) Risk - Holmes (he is one strike away from a huge suspension) Productivity - even (their stats are too close to call, altough Braylon did play for the Browns while Holmes was with the Steelers...) Better fit - Braylon (he's a larger redzone target and great run blocker, both of which are key for us) Better beard - Braylon (this guy looks like black lumber jack, Kimbo Slice is proud of that thing)
Edwards is also a better downfield blocker in the running game. I know that's not the main thing you get a quality wideout for, but it's another factor.
Another reason to hope we get Braylon and Holmes back and let Cromartie go: http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/jetsblog/cromartie_jets_not_getting_discount_ogKEMZwh9lSfBBPamS4aYM
let him go to TB or OAK. TB has to poney up to fill the minimum spending and they wont be paying Aso money. and the raiders will pay for a body to replace Aso. either way im putting a foot off the bandwagon after reading this. i like Cro and think he did pretty damn good hear contrary to the TGG consensus. that being said the market will prolly make his contract as expensive as Braylons. either way if the price to keep both Holmes and Edwards was losing Cro he can hit the fuckin bricks and take his mormon act somewhere else problem is i think Holmes is good as gone unless we throw some stupid 10mil/yr at him which i would not be a fan of.
Receiving stats are close ... but Braylon has been the better overall player. Besides being a bigger, stronger target in the passing game, and a better run blocker, consider this too ... Slightly more reliable - Braylon has only missed 6 games out of 96 while Santonio has missed 8 out of 80. MUCH better at taking care of the ball - Braylon has fumbled only 5 times in 90 games / 326 receptions (and only TWICE in the last 3 seasons). Santonio has Fumbled 13 times in 72 games / 287 receptions. If we can only keep one, give me Edwards.
