    Bitter angry Jets fans ITT.

If the Jets got any bounces the Giants have gotten not a single fan would complain. Sour Grapes everywhere.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I never saw the Jets fans referring to the back to back AFC title games as gloating, just as hope and a step in the right direction. Superbowl or bust.

Oh please when we made the AFCCG in back to back years I know Giant fans cheered for the fucking Colts over us.

    They can blow one

And if the Jets had gotten any bounces the Cmen had wed of won a god damn superbowl.

Maybe next year well win the division @ 9-7 tho !

    1. No, but having the backup punt returner certainly did help. TGJ probably would have returned one to the house for all we know, but the chances of a fumble are extremely low.

    2. No, Cruz did not declare himself down. He said it in the press. He said he "thought he was down" and so he dropped the ball. He wasn't touched. It's a live ball. Just a bad call by the refs that helped the Giants in the process.

    3. Matty-Ice is not so good in playoffs, but that doesn't necessarily fall under luck.

    4. Agreed.

    5. Gronk was Bradys favorite weapon in the endzone. Sure he played, but he wasn't nearly as healthy as Brady would have liked. Injuries are part of the game, but a such an injury is an obvious advantage to the opposing teams. And having Bradshaw injured was a blessing in disguise. Brandon Jacobs did pretty good with Bradshaw out. Giants didn't miss him as much. Gronk was missed because of the dual-TE plays the Pats run all the time that create tons of mismatches.

    6. No, they don't have to have a 100% completion percentage, but those two drops were costly. Very costly. Im glad they dropped em, cuz I hate the Pats more than the Giants, but you've got to be kidding me if u didn't take a sigh of relief there after the drops.

    7. The Giants did get a lucky break with the Burress TD being overturned. And then the fumbled snap at the 1 took away the potential 7 pts. Mangold rarely fumbles, and so his fumble was by luck.

    8. Cowboys could haved iced the first game if Tony Romo didn't miss a wide open Miles Austin or if the coach didn't call a TO when Cowboys kicker kicked the FG.

when the giants made boneheaded plays earlier in the game and blew coverage so bad that two cowboys tds had no defender within 15 yards of them, was that luck for the cowboys? the cowboys blew a 2 score lead with just over 5 minutes to go...it should have never come down to a drop. plus it didn't, they STILL had a chance to tie it and the Giants blocked a FG

You can't look at only the plays you want to and say "that never usually happens, so that's luck".

You're literally defying all objective football logic and reaching to devalue a SB.

the Giants outgained and outscored their 4 playoff opponents 102-56...please don't pretend it was luck.

The Giants made mistakes too. What about the niner fumble in niner territory that bounced off of Osi's chest and back to the niners? is that luck for the niners? It's an endless game of subjective revisionist history.

I don't understand why you are against someone the Giants got lucky. Of course they did, that's why they won the Super Bowl. No team wins the Super Bowl without a few bounces going their way. That is why only one team ever has gone undefeated and won the Super Bowl. Look back to the Pats 07 season even, and see how close some games were. Luck plays a huge factor.

They got a playoff home game with a 9-7 record. A record in 5 other NFL divisions would not have gotten home field. That's lucky but nobody would care if they didn't take advantage of it. The Pats got real lucky the 12-4 Steelers had to go to the 8-8 Broncos and couldn't play a couple players due to the altitude. Nobody would be talking if they didn't end up beating Denver. The Giants had some breaks, and then took advantage of them to win the Super Bowl.

Nothing wrong with acknowledging some bounces went your way, you guys took advantage and won the SB.
Luck plays a huge spot in sports, it is who can take advantage when they have it and who can overcome the bad luck when they have it.

I don't think anyone is arguing luck is the ONLY reason, but don't discount that bounces went your way. It happens in most if not all sports in some fashion.

Its ridiculous to say that things didn't break the Giants way, how else would a 9-7 team win a SB. I don't criticize it, I tip my hat to you.

Just do us a favor, you seem like a vey typical Giants fan, who only sees ther world one way... when things go bad for you, or if the Jets turn things around, don't spend all your time and effort telling us that the Jets really suck or they are lucky, or that the officials are conspiring against you (all things I've heard just in the past two seasons alone).

BTW what compelled you to join a Jets board anyway?

the Giants certainly got some lucky bounces in the Super Bowl. three fumbles and they all come right back to you -- you're fucking lucky. none of that diminishes the fact that they won those games and the Super Bowl because of their ability, just that lucky bounces helped keep them in a position to win. luck doesn't exclude skill, and skill doesn't mean you don't get lucky too sometimes.
