He's among the top 20, I wouldn't consider him one of the best w/ guys like Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Fitz and others but he's top 20. Not many Wrs make more big plays than he does.
Lets not get this going. Junc thinks Holmes is better than Welker so don't even do it. Save yourself some time
2 completely different WRs, one is a great possession WR who makes a living w/ dumpoffs, the other one is a playmaker who makes a living making big plays. One dropped the biggest catch of their life in the SB, the other caught and was SB MVP.
Last night I got kicked in the balls by my college roommate. This is an offense he continues to repeat, so I got upset and called him a fag and stated he had a weird magnetic fascination with people's balls. His unbelievably hot (especially for him) girlfriend shot me an angry glare presumably because her homosexual friend was within earshot. I apologized to the hot girl and her homosexual, who was not offended and found the whole thing funny. If we played for the Jets this would be front page news and certain cause for alarm.
Where he ranks makes no difference to this team he just needs to perform and much better than last season. I am willing to let last season go and see waht he can accomplish with a Revised receiving core a better MS and hopefully better OC. I don't trust the guy when things don't go perfect and that is where Sparano will earn his pay check. Make no mistake Santonio has to play well for this offense to succeed.
Well Holmes tweaked his hamstring during his "mini meltdown" and will be limited in mini camp so everyone can shut up about him complaining about being overworked.
I know these things are hard to rank, but... I suppose 15-20 is a fair range. He's not exactly the kind of talent you tolerate despite his baggage. And Holmes has lots of that.
Did anyone who thinks Holmes is a top 20 receiver watch him play last season? He disappears without a #1 receiver taking the heat off of him. He's a great #2 receiver when he isn't drawing all the coverage. He's a very clutch player, but he needs someone who actually is a top 20 receiver across from him to be great.
There were a million things wrong w/ the offense, he was one of them. He certainly wasn't top 20 last year but he was probably closer to top 10 2 years ago. He's a good WR when he plays his best.
Yea I give him 15-20 based on his potential for next season not his baggage or last season. If he takes his baggage out on the field with him next season he will run slower than Eric Smith. Last year Holmes had little help and was put in a bad position to succeed. No one to help stretch the field from him. All the double teams. Poor blocking gave plays no time to develop. I don't blame him for getting frustrated but I do blame him for making an arsehole of himself on television. Im hoping him and Mark come next season to prove themselves. Holmes has the potential to be around a 7-10 WR in the league. Hes just a bit of a douche.
Holmes is the most talented skill position player on the team. He's got a big contract and is essentialy untradeable. He may not have acted as we would have liked last year, but he was understandably frustrated, and wants to win. I understand he rubs some the wrong way, but the Jets will not go far on O without getting him the ball alot more. I don't understand the point of constant complaints about him. We should all hope he does well.
