Teague can play T and C, and Jones can swing the tackles. Depth at G is suspect, unless Mangold can play there.

Looks like Titus and Cedric played their way on the team, or at least solidified their spot last night.

If I think back, not sure why Dreesen would have justified staying on the team. While Sean Ryan hasn't been around long enough to know, Joel's potential has never really shone.

Only really dissapointed in the release of Ray Mickens. Sucks he couldn't be around to be leadership towards the young CBs and whatnot.

ok upset with only a couple of things here... both askew AND Jamar Martin make the team, while Reggie Newhouse and Darrell Mcclover got cut? whats wrong with this? Mcclover is a great special teams guy, while Newhouse really could contribute on both special teams and as the #5 WR after he beat out J-Mac and i really liked Andre Maddox, last year when we drafted both him and rhodes i thought for sure that Maddox was going to be our starting safety next to Coleman, i thought Rhodes wasn't what everyone thought he was, and then Maddox got hurt.... last night i thought he played an awesome game in on a lot of stops and really should have made the squad..

Damn I hate how Mickens got cut. Why the hell did Dressen get cut we only have 1 TE now.

For those complaining.. Who should have been cut instead?

McClover was surprising, but I think this finally shows Westoff is not running the show. It always appeared we kept guys who were good on specials even if they were inferior at their position. I can see using it for men if it's CLOSE, but if it's not close, keep the better player at his position.

well you are the rude one

  11. so our only back-ups along the OL are Jones, Teague, and Katnik. We must have somebody in mind on the waiver wire.

Hate to see McGlover and Dreesen go. And I hoped Mickens would last a year so he could retire a Jet. Also, Newhouse really looked good, and Maddox never had a shot to really show what he could do.

The Dreessen cut is very surprising, and the only scenario I can think of is that Westhoff just loves Dearth that much, and that Parcells was very high on the Ryan kid and wanted him to have the chance at cracking a starting lineup that he would never get playing behind Witten.

Mickens, well, the Ray Mickens signing baffled me, so I am not entirely surprised he's cut... just a little sad because I like the guy.

McClover - while he may be a monster on special teams, he is as versatile as the aforementioned James Dearth. Maybe some team somewhere can find a use for him in an expanded role, but not here. He is as square a peg as they come.

The Ridgeway and Newhouse cuts most likely mean we're going to either trade for or sign a wideout in the next day or two, hopefully it is not Rogers.

The only other cut that surprises me is Snell, I thought he was decent depth. I guess this FO really wants to start with a fresh slate.

This team is far from done. There are several players still on the team who will not be here when we go to TN.

    Deion Branch????

  17. I was high on Snell for quite sometime. But unfortunately had a knee injury right beofre preseason started, so we were unable to evaluate him in game type situations. If he passesthrough waivers im sure we will bring him back to the PS. Same w/ Ed Blanton.

I am dissapointed to see a lot of these guys go. Maddox maybe most of all. Dressen, McGlover, and Ridgeway I liked as well. It reallys speaks to how much more depth this team had. In 2002 and 2003 McGlover and Maddox would have made the team easily and might even have challenged for a starting job. Now they cannot even make the team. I am sure they will get picked up fast especially Maddox.

You're so right................plus , I only counted 51 on our roster at this moment.

IMO, we will have some additions/subtractions on the Offensive sde of the Ball.

I see a OT or G, TE and WR...being signed.

I agree we are to thin on the OL and we must add a TE at this point we also have to many RB on the team right now.
