It's interesting seeing everyone's takes on the different helmet. I agree with you regarding liking the old Patriots' helmets better, but disagree regarding their new helmets. Even though I hate the team, I like their helmets. I love the Niners helmets. It's classic and one of the best imo. I agree with the author about the Eagles' helmets, but disagree with him regarding the Cardinals' helmets. I like the classic look of those teams, the Packers, and the Colts. I like the matte finish on the Vikings helmets and they're fairly classic. The Bears' helmet is boring, but is pretty classic, so I doubt they'll change it. The Redskins' is classic, but I've never liked it or their colors or unis, and I don't like the logo/nickname.
The classic seahawks helmet & overall uniform is severely underrated & one of my all time favorites. I agree about the classic Rams as well as Falcons(All red). San diego have a great current as well as classic look. Throughout the 80s & 90s the chargers kept basically the same concept w the yellow pants coming & going but always playing around w the shade of blue. It went from straight up blue to a much darker almost black,to dark w a hue of purple..there was one year their blue had a greenish tinge to it far more appealing than ugly Dolphins teal we all detest.81-88 whatever year it was..thats my all time favorite non Jet uniform.
Look would have been fine. But they were trying for a new look, a new branding. Going back to a logo used rom the 70s to the late 90s wasnt happening, no matte how much some liked the look
Looking at the old Falcons helmet with the new one side by side, the original was so much better. Bad teams re-brand for marketing dollars, but usually end up downgrading the uniforms in the process (the Jets included imo). In terms of Seattle, here's a little nostalgia for ya:

All the dolphins uniforms over the years have been very feminine. They went for a modern look and somehow made them look more girly. Worst by far
I get it. My point wasnt to criticize what they did. I love the overall look of the uni & the logo could be worse. I'm also not suggesting the minor alteration from a place of nostalgia.This is a new era of Jets football that deserves its own identity. It's just after the fact, seeing the current logo w. that small change that made its rounds.. it just looks a million times better.
No, dont get the wrong impression, I get what youre saying. Actually I loved that old logo, thought it was perfection with the swoosh plane over the "Jets" as were the fonts. Just never thought they would go back to it since it was done before and doesnt really conjure up memories of a winning tradition. As you said, this is a new era, new FQB, worked out that they get unveiled with a new HC, new GM and FO. So worked out incredibly well for the Chris J.
I was recently watching last season's Jets-Packers game. Somewhere along the line I remembered that next year we're trading in these beautiful classic unis for those hideous looking Hollywood costumes, and a wave of sadness came over me. The new Jets uniform is easily among the worst in the league ... helmet included, A quantum leap backwards from the helmet we've been wearing for 20+ years. The fact that this guy actually thought those vomit inducing, two tone Jag helmets from 2017 look better than the current version, was enough for me to disregard the entire list.
I get it but I think you have to wait until you see the uniform on 11 players on the field until making a negative judgement. James Bond in from Russia with love wore those incredible narrow lapeled black suits white shirt and black skinny ties that look incredible. In a 1000 years 00-7,000 is going to be wearing a spandex unitard. On a comparative basis our Uniforms might be decent.
