Who are we cutting to afford them? And with no firsts, who are we signing for cheaper than a rookie? This would take us to cap hell like we've never seen. This is Mac territory.
Zach is worth a late rounder, and Moore is worth a mid-rounder, so we can say combined they're worth a third-rounder. So this is trading a first rounder for Carr and Adams. If anyone turns down this trade, it's likely to be the Raiders.
Why would we give the Raiders anything, let alone 2 players AND 2 first rounders? This is Madden-esque. I think the Raiders are forced to just cut Carr so then it becomes a matter of the Jets throwing the bank at him. Even then I'd say the odds are he signs somewhere else where they actually know how to run an offense (and it's warmer).
Exactly. The Raiders are the one at a disadvantage with Carr. they have to entice potential trade partners with Adams; they don’t have any leverage in this situation to demand meaningful picks.
I think we should trade Zach Wilson and Mike LeFleur for a bag of footballs and draft a QB in the 2nd round who has started 4 years in college.
fuck no. i'll give up a 3rd for carr at best. he's likely cut, they have no leverage and he has a no trade clause so best bet is we let him get cut and sign him
Sure lets just keep rinsing and repeating, and have the young talent on this team keep demanding trades.
Two 1sts, like it says in the poll, it might make sense from the Raiders perspective. But giving up Adams for just one 1st, while also taking on Zach's contract? I don't see it. E. Moore is a marginal asset at best. edit: wasn't aware of Carr's contract situation. Ugly situations for both sides, I guess.
Changing your handle to RaidersFan should come first. Fantastic trade for Raiders. Jets get thoroughly shafted in this deal IMO.
LMAO let’s leave the trades and team building to the professionals. Carr’s contract is guaranteed 3 days into the new season. They would have to trade him before that with the team acquiring him picking up his contract. Does anyone think that sounds like it realistically may happen?
Did you not see the headline running ad nauseum since last night? Something along the lines of "Adams wants to stay and be a part of the new QB selection process in Vegas". Nice try though.
If the Raiders go that route. He’s also a good soldier. They might just try to move him and tank. Seems very McDaniels to do that.
Here's a wilder idea that probably has just as much chance as getting the jets to a SB: (1) finish the Oline build with T, C, G draft in 2023. (2) sign a short- term deal vet. to compete at QB. (3) don't draft a QB above the 5th round until 2024.
