Maybe where there's smoke there's fire about Quinn being the guy in NY. A guy with Fox's stature certainly isn't in the situation where he's going to interview for a job where there's a wink agreement already in place with another coach. Who really knows at this point though...
It'd be really great if this whole thing worked out for the Jets and we wound up with Quinn. Anything less will be a disappointment now.
Well how does Quinn feel if he thought he had the job and they're interviewing other candidates. Personally I think that Woody's going to screw it up. Quinn might just be realizing the Jets are maybe a no-win situation.
It has nothing to do w respect. He's 60 coming from an elite team. His value will never be higher and he wants to win a ring. The jets don't offer him that opportunity as of today. I don't blame him at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Neither do any of the teams with HCing openings, except maybe the Broncos depending on status of Peyton or possibly SF. There is usually a reason a team has a HC opening and that is because they suck.
Just read an article where Cimini reported Quinn is rumored to want Mike Smith as his DC. I'm not liking that idea AT ALL. Obviously Quinn is a pretty solid DC so I'm not sure where Mike Smith would fit in after what the Falcons defense has looked like.
Well, Richie Kotite was an anomaly...he doesn't count. But, you do have a good point... Joe Walton... 111 53-57 .482 Bruce Coslet... 64 26-38 .406 Rex Ryan.... 96 46-50 .479
The fallout from the Fox move goes beyond the story saying Fox wanted nothing to do with the jets after we an inquired if he was interested. More importantly is the Broncos alleged interest in Quinn. If Manning is coming back and healthy I would imagine Denver would be hard to turn down. If Bowles then goes to Atlanta and Quinn to Denver where are we? McDermott and Marone? This HC search suddenly seems to resemble our GM search of 2013 where everyone but Idzik turned us down. Which might mean panic mode for Woody and entice him to make a quick hire of Bowles or someone else rather than waiting for Quinn.
What I like about it, is the fact that he is not going to run the defense, but he will oversee all 3 facets of the team.
I wouldn't be shocked if Bowles doesn't leave the building on his second interview without a deal. Too much unknown with Quinn, Fox has no interest. Can't risk ending up with a third or fourth choice.
I will be pissed beyond belief if we give Fox the time of day... He is the 2nd dumbest coach in the league!!
Why would we want Fox?? He is an absolute moron at coaching!!!! Here's a flash back: 3rd and 3... 1st down ends the game.. I have Peyton Manning.. I'll run the ball.. Get stuffed.. Punt.. Hail Mary Jacoby Jones Touchdown!!!
