I thought when he had McCown in, that the offense was very productive. Bill Walsh couldn't even fix Geno Smith.

Kelly is happy at Notre Dame, one of the more prestigious football jobs.

If the Jets don't choose a coach after this round of interviews it might indicate Quinn is the choice. If the Seahawks advance in the playoffs they can't announce it until they are eliminated. I read that with his agent, Tanny, now signing with Miami the firm has already assigned him a new agent. It would also give the Jets a chance to name a GM before a HC. So over the next week some of these jobs will be filled.

Jay Cutler is the most overrated QB in the entire NFL. Hes better than Geno certainly but he doesn't get nearly enough credit for the Bears demise.

I have no idea if they will hire the right coach or the right GM. But, I'm glad they are looking under- apparently- every fucking rock in the NFL for the right guys.

In the words of Han Solo, "Hope to hell this works...."

    Via Jason Cole

Source indicated if #Seahawks DC Dan Quinn gets HC job (#Jets strong chance), will try to hire Kyle Shanahan as OC, away from #Browns

Same guy that completely made up Geno missing the last meeting of the year. (Hold the jokes he was in fact in attendance.) So I'm not sure how credible he is but this would be great news if true. If the Seahawks keep winning it'll be hard for someone not to steal Shannahan away from us unless there's a big wink and nod agreement.

    U mean Quinn, right?

Interestingly, I've heard shanny jr's name mentioned in conjunction with his father in a Bills family deal.

I don't mean Quinn. If the Seahawks keep winning our hire of Quinn will continue to be delayed allowing other teams to steal Shanahan before we get a chance. Judging by the reaction to most of Coles recent reports he's wrong a lot.

Oh ok. Quinn is the one I'm worried about losing. While I have heard Kyle mentioned for a few oc openings, I wouldn't be too broken up if we missed on him. Isn't Marty still technically our oc?

I'd be a good hire too, but your looking for a head coach and good hire is not enough of the prerequisite.

Technically but unless there's a connection with the new coach he'll be gone. If he helps up get Quinn I'll take him.

Whoever the Jets bring in, I hope they retain Karl Dunbar. He hasn't had any interviews or anything.

I hope they keep Dunbar if they get Quinn or Bowles so they can brainstorm combining Rex ' D and Seattle's then hire an agressive OC and let err rip.

Somehow I imagine Quinn hasn't given a second thought to what he might do if he maybe gets a head coaching job. I don't know, playoffs, and stuff.

Well, he did have an interview with the Jets and what a new coach would do with a team is part and parcel of such an interview.
