Obviously this was gonna be Idziks choice, shouldn't the new GM schedule the interviews with the head coaching candidates?
That's likely not gonna happen. Too many teams need coaches. If we spend time finding a GM first, we will miss out on every good candidate at head coach.
Its a misdirection play. I think the Jets are going to have this wrapped up in about a week, both GM & HC
I see what you mean... we need to beat out the Bears, 49ers, Raiders, and Falcons. That said, we need our HC and GM to be on the same page or we will go through the same problems year after year. I guess it'll be an interesting few weeks.
It's gonna be very tough. A lot of coaches were fired today. Leaves the market very thin. Interviews are gonna be going crazy. If you find a good head coach you need to leap on it asap. There's no room to look around
Quinn looks like a good hire given what he's done with Seattle's D. The fact that he is a Jersey guy who was born and raised in Morristown might give us an edge as well. That said I do see the point of posters who think we should avoid another defensive minded/Rookie coach who is hired before the GM. However, in these regards, I have no other choice but to trust in Wolf and Casserly, knowing near shit about potential FO/HC candidates. If W&C think it would be wise to hire him, and more so, before they bring in the GM, you have to assume that it isn't that big of a deal to hire the HC before the GM, particularly when potential candidates could be scooped up before we hire the GM. If it were Woody making this decision, I'd say hello no. But if it's coming from W&C, then I have to go with them.
And the Jets may be the least desirable of all the teams in the Market. Well maybe ahead of Oakland unless you like the west coast.
Totally different situation Wolf & Cassserly on board. Gives the job a lot of lustre. Cap space...complete control... good draft pick. Commentators are saying that its the top job out there right now That's not the way it was 2 years ago
With all the vacancies in the league right now, do you think we should've fired Rex and Idzik earlier to get the headstart? We could very easily be left holding the bag when it's all said and done.
Totally disagree. (see my last post) Chicago fired a GM today. They basically hire yes men and will not attract a top candidate. Oakland? please Who else is looking?
Chicago is way more attractive than the Jets. Forte, Marshall, Jeffery and the 7th pick is a mighty fine situation to walk in to. The only deterrent there is Cutler.
