I could see Rex going to Chicago, because his dad was their DC with the '85 Bears. If he only gets one HC offer, he will probably take it no matter what. If he gets offers from multiple teams, that's where it will become interesting. If he goes straight to another HC job, he can take his entire defensive coaching staff along with him.
I won't ,look at the candidates availabe for god sakes the Raiders are bringing in Eric Mangini for an interview.
I'd take Kubiak off of that list. Cable was pretty interesting with the Raiders. He would be another colorful choice plus he can coach.
He has an interview lined up,his agent is trying to use it as leverage to see what the intrest is its obvious. The day after he's fired he sets up an interview with ESPN?what's the rush?
Maybe it will include his wife, her feet and the BBC he was looking for on the net. In all seriousness though, many different outlets have mentioned good fits and candidates for all the openings and I haven't real heard Rex mentioned for any of them. He is going to TV.
No GM right now. At least there is less competition, last season weren't there 9 HC spots open? This year its only 5..... and the 49ers might choose from within, same with the Raiders with Sparano....
If the Raiders can't sign Del Rio I could see them giving Sparano a very cheap one year deal. He's used to be taken for granted. Didn't Ross the Fins owner overlook him even when he was under contract and interviewed other coaches. There aren't exactly a lot of coaches breaking down their doors wanting to coach that franchise.
