Perfect. If you watch his positioning...he is lined up well..perhaps 20 and sometimes 25 yards off the ball. We play our safteys like we constantly get beat by other teams deep....and that just never happens...IT DOESNT HAVE TO HAPPEN BECAUSE OF ALL THE SHORT SHIT THATS OPEN! If you cant trust your cb's with coverage allowing your saftey to help out over the middle..then your defense sucks deep..and that HAS NOT been the case. This is pure coaching. Mangini always stresses that "we try to put the guys in the best postion to make plays" That, my friends, is BULLSHIT. This team plays defense like a paranoid bunch of wimps. They hit like girls. They defend like pee wee's...we played a team yesterday that does not have the same talent on defense that we do...and what we saw is guys looking to rip someones head off every time we touched the ball. This is coaching....this is a front office that got a memo from the league stating "qb's are no longer allow to throw the ball where linebackers stand". Our front office then took this memo and went out and decided to play three...THREE!!, converted lineman and make them linebackers..and heres the kicker...ready? AND DRAFT ANOTHER ONE. The Jets now own the rights on converted linebackers and have only one (harris) that even has potential to play pass coverage. I can beat Barton in a race...and Im 48. To top it all off...they play their safteys in a manor to protect against the the long ball....and there lies the death of this team...and no coach..Sutton...Mangini....whoever...has even attempted to solve the problem. "But wait Jay...the pass rush sucks" Yes..it does...but when you cant cover the middle with ANY consistancy...you cant blitz hardly at all. To top it all off...you have two guys playing on either side of Jenkins that cant fight there way out of a paper bag. "but Ellis has a decent amount of sacks" yeah..all coming before teams saw the weakness on this team...leaving the 3 guys rushing out to dry. This is coaching...this is front office..and whoever decided converting lineman to linebackers....4 of them!!!, was the way to go.
