So we should stop picking WR's too b/c we picked Johnnie Jones or maybe stop picking RB'S b/c of Blair Thomas?Ridiculous
Baker is a solid, tough bloker with capable hands but no breakway speed to create mismatches. We agree Jolley is a waste but Davis will scare D Coordinators. You can line him up a WR with his 4.4 speed with Baker/Dreesen in a 2 tightend set. Now that's scary!Take Davis id Williams is gone like he should be.
You fix the OL later in the draft by taking Mangold at 29 and McNiel for RT next unless Lawson is still there at 29. RB you get in 3rd round(like Curtis)then you have 4 more rounds for another CB,NT,WR, and maybe QB.Do you think the Jets are going into the season not knowing whether Chad is ok? We were set last year with Fiedler as his backup and with our luck they both go down in 6 plays. No team overcomes that kind of loss so stop saying we have no QB. If Chad is not ready than Tangini must be confident in Ramsey.
the thing I love about Vernon is that he would probably make whatever QB we have much better right from the start and he would probably be the most athletic guy we have on offense.
when was the last time we had an effective TE in our offense ? Micky Shuler. Would be nice to see Davis in green and white. He could be our deep threat.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/22/AR2006042201415.html Wonderful article on Vernon Davis from today's Washington Post (Dahlia Levin is my son's Hebrew School teacher).
Awesome read ............ he sounds a lot like Curtis Martin. If he's a bright guy, he sounds EXACTLY like the kind of player Mangini says the Jets want.
