ffs, he was enough to say that we dont need to worry about the run game.

    Exactly.

If there are people on the board that think Clemens deserves an oppostunity with an improved line given his performance, then TJ definitely deserves another chance...

Ain't nothing wrong with Thomas Jones. We just got to make sure his roids package gets to him this offseason. McCareins probably stole them.

People expecting Jones to smash through non-existant holes in goal line situations are expecting Jones to be a pile pusher, and he has never been one. He gets yardage when there are holes, he is not a shifty back but when he gets a head of steam he is hard to bring down. I think that the thing that hurt our running game the most this season, ironically, was not having a guy like Ced Houston to threaten in those situations. Plus not having a blocking back to speak of.

Jones is not an elite runningback and never will be, but I think the combo of Jone, Leon and a big, blocking, smash-mouth FB behind a decent run-blocking line would be good enough to open up the passing routes and also to gain the short yardage when we need it.

    Agree.

I thought he did well to run for 1100 yards behind this pathetic OL. The number of plays when he was hit behind the LOS was a disgrace to the OL.

They didnt properly utilize a FB, and probably need a short yardage specialist.

The number of TDs doesnt always correlate to being a good back- last year Barlow had a few, but no one was going to mistake him for barry Sanders.

Thomas jones was running for his job. That's why he was motivated for a meaningless game. He doesn't have game breaking speed. He had agreat line with the bears and they were happy to give him away. I don't understand some people, if we were to get mcfadden we still will up grade the line. There're more rounds in the draft then1. you dont draft lineman in the 1st round. But that ended with a meaningless. Same old jets.

He only scored one rushing touchdown. Which could be blamed on play calling.

    He had a good year

The only thing I don't like about Jones is that he isn't an elite back. He gives us a running game, but RB is such an easy position to upgrade at through the draft given a good O-line.

I like Jones because he's tough as shit and gets the most out of what this O-line gives him. But once the O-line is fixed I wouldn't mind getting a younger, more talented guy.
