I dont know if this qualifies me as the 'old guys', but i was in intensive care with internal injuries and 11 broken bones (harley) the day before we spanked manning in the playoffs. i INSISTED they get a TV in the ward so i could watch the game or i would crawl to a sprots bar. they thought i was kidding until i actually made it to the maternity ward 2 floors down. they rolled a bed into the IC waiting room with a TV and put muy IVs back in, including morfine drip. i actually remember every snap of that game AND i am BEYOND psyched for HBO!!!!!!
Holy shit....thats dedication...I meant "old guys" as in the traditional "woe is me" mentality. Im 30 and I love this shit. My step-father is 60 and hes never been more excited for a season in his life. I gotta bring the old man to another game this year. I took him to his first one in more than 20 years last season. The Jacksonville game...after I felt like I should have just saved the money and punched him in the face.
Lets see, take your favorite team in the whole wide world, then get the opportunity to watch behind the scenes during the entire off-season and including the pre-season games.... and that's a bad thing somehow?! How in the hell is that a bad thing, I really just don't understand this angle at all... Not only is Hard Knocks just an awesome show no matter what, I enjoyed every single season thus far, and now not only is it about to start again, but it focuses on THE NEW YORK JETS!!! HOLY SH1T!!! How in the world can you not be stoked about this... !??! DOES NOT COMPUTE, DOES NOT COMPUTE

I meant 3 strait games..big games...you've lost.... you guy's lost while talking a lot of smack, now your preseason #1 on some boards, and your being featured in a reality show.. I like how we come out of this looking, and I think it continues to give our player's an emotional edge....
Why would Hard Knocks be a distraction? Cameras? They play in front of them 18 + times a year. I think the players are used to them. Secrets? Does Rex have secrets? The basis of this team is simple. Blitz, blitz again and blitz some more. Notoriety? The NFL know who the Jets are. After Mangini I'm glad our players are showing some personality. This is not the "Same Old Jets". Embrace some change for the better.
If your "team" needs an emotional edge by reading crap on a message board or watching a TV show then there is something wrong with the coaching staff not being able to fire the players up for the games.
Ive been a lifelong fan since the late 60's and a loyal hard knocks watcher and I am all for The Jets being on hard knocks and the swagger and hype and bringing in stars. Way more than all that glitterhype however, I like the way that this team plays defense and the fact that this defense is still capable of getting better and meaner and becoming one of the elite defenses in the NFL. Swagger and hype is great when you can back it up with a ferocious defense.
OF course you're not a crybaby. Your paranoia about the Jets being a featured team makes you much more of a SOJF.
