The reality is Rogers calls that offense when he's on the field and Hackett lets him do that. That's why Rogers likes him so much.
Just saw this posted somewhere else and going to post it here. 3 teams yesterday using the same concept, but we are stuck here in the stone age with Hackett. https://x.com/CoachDanCasey/status/1726426661409710409?s=20 https://x.com/CoachDanCasey/status/1726433690467680487?s=20 https://x.com/CoachDanCasey/status/1726428468185866361?s=20
I thought Sean Payton was being douchy and self-serving with his comments about Hackett having "one of" the worst coaching jobs last year. Turns out he was being nice. This O would have been way better with MLF and literally any other QB.
31st in total offense, just barely ahead of the Carolina Panthers 3rd down conversion rate is dead last by a mile and on the verge of setting NFL records for futility
Move the chains? The Jets were 28th in the NFL in third down conversions under MLF. Christ, is this what is actually considered success these days?
Comparatively, yea….unfortunately. The offense did feel a bit different last season but part of it was Wilson’s backbreaking turnovers. He’s still making those happen (was anyway) but we’re getting more fumbles than pics this time around.
It's funny. My wife will occasionally watch the game for a bit and yesterday she asks me..."why do they keep running that play up the middle but it never works?" I'm like yeah, nice observation I have no freaking idea.
