Every post is a strawman argument to you. Your lame comeback. Forget it, why bother.

Actually if that's the case, then they all should be fired for using the #51 overall on a long shot developmental player. Also it's you kidding yourself if you believe that the project is not over, it's done.

It's over. His only hope is that he's keeping on to maybe develop into a backup.

Why do Jets fans keep repeating the idea that Hack is in play, forever. Other than the ridiculous idea that Macc needs to justify the pick. Ignoring his extension and the not so secret attempt to get Cousins or to use our 1st on a QB.

Denial, simple as that and I really can't blame them. If my team was as consistently inept for as long as the Jets have been, I'd probably recreate my reality as well.

Explaining why Hackenberg is still on the roster is like proving the existence of dark matter. You know it exist, but you can't quantify it. Explaining the unexplainable..

He’s the Dozier of the Mac generation. He’s no use to the roster but serves as a reminder of a bygone age.

In 2028 we’ll look back at all these draft picks with nostalgia. I’m just off the meds caused by the Alex van Dyke pick.

Only players that actually get on the field can have an update.

If a quarterback throws a pass in the forest and no one sees it, did it happen?

FWIW, the 2016 second round picks were overall horrible so far. Most of the picks have spent significant time on IR. Even among the 2016 second round standouts -- Myles Jack, Sterling Shepard, Derrick Henry, and Jason Spriggs -- a few have spent a lot of time on the IR. Certainly, it's a different problem than Hack's (i.e., not having sufficient talent to beat out McCown or Petty), and even the guys who've been on IR have seen more snaps than him.

It would be nice to get something out of Hack, but I don't want the FO/CS to force it. Last time a Jets FO pressed a second round QB to play early, we got to watch a physically-talented kid who needed to sit for at least a year (to build his football IQ and mature, particularly tone down his ego) ruin his career and waste the Jets' time. We all hate the Jets getting nothing out of a 2016 second round pick. Certainly, using 51 to pick Hack looks like an error in hindsight. That draft capital is already lost. But letting Hack sit until he's ready isn't meaningless: it reflects the FO/CS avoiding their past mistakes. Showing us that they haven't lost the lesson is worth something.

It remains to be seen whether Hack will produce anything. The odds may be against it, but he just turned 23 so who knows. The video shows that he's working on it, so maybe he'll be able to hit the broadside of a barn by camp? Us Jets fans should probably be rooting for him because it would be found-money for this asset-poor organization. Can Hack redeem Mac? I hope so. (But I'm not holding my breath.)

As bad as Geno sucked he was light years ahead of Hack at the end of his second year.

All these “QB guru” genius guys that we hear about current QB’s “making great improvements under.. House, Vinnh, Jordan Palmer.. has anyone actually gotten better?

Example- I remember reading a few years ago about Tebow always worked tirelessly with different ones every offseason and they all swore “this is it, he’s sooo much better now.. look out” and none of these QB’s ever improved

It's a very important off season for Hack. He's 23 and staying roughly in the same offence (we think) he has to put in a lot of work to move forward for himself.

Most Likley Hack will be cut in training camp with a view to practise squad. If he gets through waivers I can see him being on another 2/3 teams in the next 2 years floating around 2nd/3rd strings for injuries etc before being released.

What we can only hope would happen is that he clicks and gets it. If he does we will be heading into the season with a drafted qb (under 25). Teddy(25), Josh (39)and Hack (23) This is the best case scenario but going off the last 2 years and his competition, it's unlikely but I feel we are closer to finding our qb for the next 5-10 years than we have been recently.

It is possible, even if the Jets draft a QB, which they most likely will that they could put Hack on the practice squad this year.

If the Jets draft a QB, I will be livid if they don’t immediately release Hack and Petty.

Wasting offseason reps with 4 QBs when you’ve conceded that 2 of them suck would be very annoying. Get the rookie and Teddy as many reps as possible and let the old man watch practices and step in around August if neither claims the job.
