Oh, I wasn't being a smart ass...was just wondering if I missed something because a lot of folks were saying Mc'D was looking a lot better than originally thought.

WMD balled out against the Commanders. I can't believe people are still down on this kid, he's about to take a big step forward in year 2.

Based upon 0 sources bad mouthing McD, your conclusion is based on nothing. No need to research something you simply can't find. Weird post...

Really, there's zero press calling into question McD's performance thus far--where does this guy make his conclusions from--thin air I say. Really glad you point out that there is no data to back it up.

That roughing the passer call was completely bogus.

Personally, we should have snatched up Danielle Hunter instead of Reddick.

I wonder how many more times the Eagles will punch Joe Douglas in the mouth before he stops considering them family?

Woody needs to man up and pay this guy.

That's the only way this is going to end.

They traded for him they knew or should've known what they were getting into. Obviously they view him as someone who can help them get to where they want to go their Chris Jones?

    Just pay him.

I wonder how Woody's mind works.

In the past he's had no trouble getting bent for epic busts like Trumaine Johnson or locker room cancer Aholeio Holmes just to name a couple. The money flowed freely.

Then he plays hardball with all world talents Darrele Revis & Jamal Adams.

I'd love to know how in his mind he says YES to guys like Johnson and Holmes then oh no no no no have to think this one over with Revis & Adams and now Reddick.

I'm not comparing Reddick to Revis & Adams only the situation.

Where & how does he draw that line?

He's a moron. Case closed, and now you can think of better things. Enjoy your Sunday

I agree completely though. I'm dreading how he's gonna screw up Sauce, GW, and Breece

    Regarding McD play:

He looks like he's almost ready to be a 3rd down pass specialist in the mold of Huff but he's not a 3-down guy right now. I watched him more closely due to this ongoing convo, and he just doesn't have the strength to compete effectively--at least in the several snaps I observed. I wouldn't even call this my opinion like I usually do. This is much closer to a fact.

The spin move was great--but that kind of finesse doesn't transfer to every down player.

There was one play near the goal-line that defines him imo. He was on the RDE and the play went up the middle. He got off his block but could not power himself into the play. I believe this occurred a play or two prior to the Daniels TD. Maybe someone has the ability to show a clip of the play I'm referring to or can describe it better.

Here is the thing, I don't think anyone is saying McD is awful. But was the expectation of a 25 year old #15 overall pick to be behind Clemons right now and only be a 3d and long specialist? Clemons btw did not impress at all, he is the same depth player he was a year ago, who I hope does not have to play much. Did McD flash enough to say he can play Huff's role from two years ago? Perhaps. I just expected more of a complete player by his second year as he was a pretty old rookie and spoke for two years about gaining weight, which would help to play more as an all down player.

But I am glad he generated some pass rush on 3d down pass situation, we need as well. We just need a lot more than that without Reddick, and the alternative is Clemons...

I just don’t like the way the Jets analyzed McDonald at all when they drafted him. It appears as though they were giddy to get another situational edge rusher for Saleh to toy with in different situations. You generally don’t take a player like that at 15 especially with an already strong defense and defensive line. You especially don’t do that if you’re not a perennial playoff team.

You have to take a guy that you think will be a 3-down end by year two at that spot or you don’t pull the trigger on him.

He was just clearly overdrafted and it’s irritating given what we could’ve used at that spot. And then to add insult to injury we got bodied by the Eagles with the Huff/Reddick swap and contract dispute.

Joe did a great job if he was looking for a player whose ceiling is 2023 Bryce Huff.

It’s just bad team building to try to have 4-5 ends at all times to use in different situations. It’s not anyway to consistently achieve long term success.

The 49ers are the anomaly, not the rule. And they only achieved really great long term success when they lucked into a generational talent. The defense was meh before Bosa got there.

Regarding Clemons, yes, he's not an 2 or 3 down above average DE either--hence the issue we are in and why it looks like we have to sign Reddick asap.

Nothing against Clemons or McD. Its Joe D that put us in this situation and we're already down a 3rd round pick so got to sign Reddick to a deal he likes sooner than later.
