aww, taking your ball and going home....c'mon man, you yank fans are too uptight...GYC will live in infamy regardless of whatever else ever happen in Baseball for the rest of time! and like i said to you in the other thread, which you STILL don't get.....what makes you the authority on what criteria should be used to evaluate one league versus another.... li it's always a stupid, pointless argument...but you Yank fans insist on throwing out the "Weak" league thing out there....when ultimately there's really no stat the can truly backs it up....every one of them can be debated ad nauseum....whether you will admit that or not is another thing. (I know you won't) Until the Mets blow a 3-0 series lead to lose 4-3....GYC will always be alive and well....so I anticipate it will be alive a looooong time GYC!!!
No stats huh? We could argue the dominance of the AL in the All-Star game, year after year, after year, but I'm sure the counter would be 1) It's only one game, and 2) The fans pick the players, so the most talented isn't necessarily on the field. That arguement could further be countered with the simple statement that it goes both ways. So the AL is the more dominant of the two All-Star teams. Raw record shows that. Then there's always the clear statistic of wins vs. losses in the regular season. Exactly 3 teams had a .500 or better record in the NL against the AL. (Florida 9-9, San Fran 8-7, & Colorado 11-4.) Overall, the AL won more games in interleague play than the NL, but a vast margin. 154-98. That's total domination.[/quote] You're right. It will probably be forever. Considering it was something that had never happened before, chances are, it won't be repeated. The chances of the Mets or Red Sox, who aren't well known for their post-season prowess having a chance to echo the performance are close to nill. But if you people are going to insist on bringing up the GYC all the time, you have zero right to complain when we respond with 26 time World Champions. History is written by the winners, and the Yankees have written far more history than the Mets and Sox combined. When you repeat THAT stat, then you can say whatever you want.
Im really not trying to get into this argument, but Id like to point out that it isnt just yankee fans that were saying the AL is way better last year...it was the entire baseball world..writeers, GM's yadda yadda....even that met shill toolbag ed coleman said it a lot last year. So lets at least be accurate when we make accusations
I agree with that, when a league is weak everyone knows it. Look at the NFC this year, everyone knows the AFC is much stronger, and you've got the interleague stats to back it up. Same thing in baseball last year, the NL for the most part sucked. It's not really a slight against the Mets either since they were one of the good teams, I don't see what's to get all bent out of shape about.
but that was before the season.....as the season has gone on the nfc east isnt raved about anymore......the baseball talk continued as the season went on.....the proof showed the nfc east wasnt strong.the proof showed the AL was stronger than the NL
GYC GYC GYC back in the house..... Hope that 46 million to get a 4th starter at best to get Igawa works out.
Wouldn't it be great if met fans had a team that played in october so they wouldn't have to worry about the yanks so much?
That's all the Mets fans have... they can't celebrate their own success (2 wins in 40 + years) so they have to focus on Yankee losses... 39 pennants 26 championships Suck it.
