Air it out to Ground and Pound. The only thing that stopped our running game at all last year was no credible passing thread. They'd launch the ball down the field at Braylon and watch as it bounced off him.

Now with Holmes, Edwards, Cotchery and Keller lined up and LT coming out the backfield, how can you pack the box against the Jets? Couple of long passes opens up the intermediary routes and the run game.

I say run the ball. Look at the ravens.. Got pass happy with flacco, and then it took until the end of the year to get the offense under control. Even with the weapons, dont go away from what you already know is a strength..

Pound the ball even harder...... Look at how they were able to run the ball without much of a passing threat.

DARE the opposing team to stack the box then respond with a few big air strikes. running room all day. :eek:hmy:

Please baby Revis, do not let any linemen get injured.

Balance it out for sure, I still want to see Sanchez throw maybe 20-25 times a game, and run the shit out of the ball, but they need to keep Greene healthy enough for the playoffs and a potential playoff run. I'm looking forward to S. Holmes WR screens ouchhh burn

    Balance......its all about balance....

Plus, the passing game threats keep the D honest so they can't stuff the box on the running game, and if they do, we can burn 'em in a BIG way.

Damned if you do.......damned if you don't.......

It all hinges on Sanchez playing well. If he picks up where he left off in the playoffs, the rest of the NFL is in trouble. If he starts throwing picks again.....

I still think we will be a run first team, but now we can mix up our first down play calls legitimately and keep defenses off balance. we can run on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, or pass on any down, and can legitimately be a threat to convert regardless.

    Pretty much agree.

I think the Jets are balancing out the offense compared to last year. We were the #1 rush team because we HAD to be. Now with a year under is belt, and a better blocking back and WR, we can keep teams off balance now. They can no longer stack the box, because we'll hit one of our stud WR. If they back it up, we'll ram it down their throats.

    Win.Win.

I don't think Holmes will have a hard time being a team guy here in NY. From what I've seen of his play in Pittsburgh, he was a team guy there... he blocked, ran good routes and wasn't the leading receiver, Hines Ward was... maybe last year he was, but I don't think so...

teams are still going to stack the box until the sanchise proves himself ... so, we'll probably have to throw early in games and then ground em out

I doubt Tanny even considered what effect this would have on the offense and how everything would fit together. It was just too good of a deal for him to pass up.

Ground N' Pound or Air It Out?

Both, like most teams. We'll use the run to setup the pass and on every third possession we will throw deep on first down.

We have a potent, balanced offense. It's great.

Lets hope Rex and Schotty can make all this work. Players needs to perform but its just as important for the coaches to put them in a good position to succeed. Its scary to think though what our Offense can do if our running and passing games are working together.

I really can't believe the amount of talent we have on offense. Beginning of last year we had Cotchery, Stuckey and David Clowney as our top 3 WRs. Now we have Edwards, Holmes and Cotchery. Pinch my cheek and slap me like a bitch because I think I'm dreaming.

I think our offense will still favor the run slightly. Say a 55-45 run-pass ratio. But overall we have all the options and weapons to do whatever we need to do given the situation whether we are down 10 or up 10, running the 2 minute drill or eating up the clock. We just gave ourselves a respectable offense where finishing in the top 10 for offensive ranking shouldn't be a possibility, but it should be expected.

This statement say's it all, I think we will continue to be a pound and ground team, but if we fall behind we have the weapons to do it and no more stacking the box against us.

it depends on who we play... a week run d and greene/lt take over but a week pass d and we try to air it out... we now have the luxury of choosing.

ground it out to set up those bombs for braylon, holmes for the 15yard catches with the yards afta carry guy is a monsta. Cotch mr. reliable 3rd down.

Or how about have Cromartie, and Revis take 6's to the house.

What's nice about this is Holmes is a monster at returning punts(from the 3 youtube vids ive seen.)
