That's a fair point. I think that the majority of users are players like Matt Lawton or Alex Sanchez who use out of fear of not being able to compete (Jim Leyritz admitted to using HGH and amphetamines for the same reason.) In Bonds' case, from what I understand (assuming that Book of Shadows isn't total BS) Bonds was jealous of the attention that Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire got in the homerun chase and wanted to be the best of all time. You could make a case for Clemens as a player like Bonds in that regard, though I can't imagine who he'd be chasing. BTW 3rdand15, my arguement is against Clemens using anabolic steroids. I admittedly know very little about human growth hormone and won't take a stand on Clemens' possible use of it one way or another (if it seemed like I did before, I was being unfortunately unclear.)
"Mr. Grimsley you are contradicting a sworn statement that you previously made to me and signed. I ask you again sir -- you are now under oath -- were you at any time a member of a crime organization -- headed by Roger Clemens." "I don't know nothin' about that.. Oh -- I was in the Olive Oil business with his father but that was a long time ago that's all."
Much like the Bonds case it will never be proven... thus Grimsley and his lawyer can deny saying it in order to avoid lawsuits.
I wonder if Suzyn Waldmen cried yesterday (like you guys are now) when she read the list? "Oh my goodness gracious, of all the dramatic things -- of all the dramatic things I've ever seen..." :rofl2:
