Cimini: Jets say Sanchez has left the stadium even though clothes remain in his locker. #Jets that was a quick leave
23/36 63.9%,8.2 YPA 2 TD 2INT took 1 sack. That's not all that bad, Sanchez has looked a lot like 2010/11 Sanchez, shitty, but not that shitty. Smith is clearly not NFL ready, and the mistake in this game is that once he totally shit the bed there is no reason to risk Sanchez behind the dregs of the O-line bubble. We know what Sanchez is, somewhere between last year's player and 2011 Sanchez, both are better than Geno right now. Of course both are worse than Kyle Orton, but I can't see the front office moving anything of value with a team that isn't a contender with any available QB this season.
At this point...if Nacho is hurt and you HAVE to start a young QB...I'd go with Simms...at least he's got the arm to keep things interesting. LOL!!!!!!!!!! I have to laugh...I'd cry if I didn't.
Simms is an inaccurate thrower. McElroy has an inadequate arm. If you could make McSimmsElroy out of the two of them you might have an NFL QB. Between the two of them McElroy is much readier to start and then Simms can take over when he hits IR in a game or two at the outside. The truth of the matter is that the Jets have nobody ready to start at QB for them this season. They do have one guy on the roster who has the physical abilities to play QB in the NFL and is not yet damaged goods.
Somehow Geno's 50% completion rate, 3 ints and 1 TD makes him "not NFL ready" but Mark Sanchez's frequent multiple turnover games and awful completion percentage games makes him the guy we have to start.
well no, it makes him better. Just like getting punched in the stomach is better than having someone stomp on your balls, neither is enjoyable, but if they are the only two options the choice is clear.
yes - believe what you typed. you must believe it. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...s-test-jets-preseason-opener-article-1.398475
Fact that he played like CRAP? Sanchez has looked improved with the 1s. Again, look how long it took the JETS to score a damn TD last preseason. Sanchez was hitting receivers on point for the most part of his game in the first 2 games. The O overall look rejuvenated and the play calling seemed that Sanchez can actually do something positive with a real OC. Its a shame he threw that bone headed pick 6 but overall at least the OFFENSE was serviceable. Hes the clear one as the Geno hype got shutdown tonight. Geno aint ready and never was close to be ready. Sanchez is overall the 1 and would of been the one if he wasnt injured. Tonight proved that. No bias. That "competition" was all media hype. It wasnt a fair competition tonight, period. He had zero business being out there.
Not this preseason though. Idk about you but I think Sanchez has looked sharp. Not only that, but comfortable too. Maybe Marty can bring the great outta Sanchez. I believe in Rex and Sanchez. Sent from my SCH-R530M using Tapatalk 4 Beta
But...He wasn't even in there long tonight. Did you see the fumble on the shotgun snap? Why...does...Sanchez.........do......that....shit. He's like a human bad luck charm. No quarterback does that kind of shit that frequently.
Your point is well made but you can understand the frustration based on his performance. I think people were secretly hoping Geno would come out and rock it, no turnovers, a couple of TDs, high completion percentage, etc. Probably knew it wasn't going too happen but I think, deep down, people were hoping to be blown away.
^ Yeah on that INT, Geno made a bad throw and the WR didn't do a good job. It was still a bad throw, have to count it.
No, he wasn't. In fact he didn't even hit his WR on point tonight. Go watch his completion on a slant play and see where the ball was. Far off target where the WR had to dive for it. Go watch Geno throw the same pattern, and the ball hits the WR in stride.
People weren't hoping - they were proclaiming. Because... you know, being a QB for the NYJ is a dream come true, loaded with great talent and structure. Only Sanchez could throw such a chance away.
