It's not as if he has frequently been in trouble, his prior problems have been missing team meetings and speeding tickets, hardly signs of a serial trouble maker. I am 99.99% certain that he will not be signing any "cheap" deal.

How are we not kicking the tires on this guy? If he wasn't in his current off-the-field situation this guy would be getting premium money. He could help our pass rush tremendously.

    GTFOH with a Vick reference.

you might want to stop being a football fan in general. there aint a team in this league that doesn't have players with skeletons in there closet.

i agree that what he allegedly did was terrible (i say allegedly bc the case was dropped and the victim is what some would call a jersey chasing gold digger bc of her past, so there is some doubt as to whether he actually did what she claimed. also, she had ZERO issue taking money in a settlement, "disappearing", then flaunting her exploits all over social media), but if he can play i dont really care too much. hes not who i look to for guidance in life. one day, when some woman is dumb enough to father my demon spawn (bc god will punish me with slutty daughters or degenerate sons bc thats my luck), they wont look to athletes for guidance in life either. take a flyer on the dude. hes a special talent

6 games over his head right now. that will definitely lower his contract value. also going forward, hes got no strikes if thats the case and he gets the 6. that too will make him worth less.

you are right tho in that it still wont be cheap

At first I was all about it. But after we signed Cromartie I backed off a bit. I don't think he can be had for a one year prove it deal, he's too good. Plus we still need to resign Wilkerson ect… it would be nice to roll over some cap money to next year. HOWEVER, if he could be had at the right price he could really make our defense special.

It is a long shot, but I would at least reach out to his agent and see if there is any interest.

Hardy's leverage is also hurt by the possibility of a suspension looming by Raj the hammer.

What are you a retired soccer mom?I would bring in OJ Simpson as running backs coach and Aaron Hernandez as TE ,Ray Rice as our RB,Vick as the QB,and Greg Hardy if it meant 10 Superbowls.Forget 10 id do it for one

Can't blame a man that's found not guilty. So aside from that, i still don't want him! I want us to pay mo! maybe if we did that and still had a nice dollar left to splurge than maybe, but we have other needs... like a speed receiver.

Greg Hardy is not a Jet fan. He doesn't care about this team.

He's going to sign the largest longest contract for as much guaranteed money as he can with whichever team will give it to him.

He's not coming to the Jets on a 1 year cheapo deal to prove to Woody and McGag and Bowles and this fan base that he can stay out of trouble.

He doesn't give enough of a shit about any team that he's going to sign a "prove it" deal.

This reminds me of a few years ago when people were suggesting we should sign Usain Bolt to a 1 year vet minimum contract so the guy can prove to us he can play football.

The dude is worth $50 mill, he wasn't coming to the Jets to prove he could play anything.

None of these guys are Jet fans. What do they have to prove to us?

You are using the term "prove it" too concretely. It does not literally mean he is signing a deal to prove to the Jets fans and the Jets organization that he has skills/can stay out of trouble. Prove it deal, a modest contract compared to what he would get under normal circumstances, giving him a chance to re-solidify himself and improve his perceived value so he can sign a monster contract next offseason. Thats a prove it deal.

It's not going to be a 1 year deal for the vet minimum or anything close to it. He's not going to be interested in "proving" anything.

But guess what, if every team (or ones interested) only offers him a 1 year prove it deal, then he either takes it, or he doesn't play in the NFL this year.

In his case "prove it" is the wrong term in any context. He may get a 1 year deal for some team but it won't be because they want him to "prove it". His value is low right now because of the bad PR he brings and the 6 game suspension hanging over his head. In reality, he should be the one trying to get a 1 year deal rather than signing a long term contract when his value is so low.

There's only room for one saint on the roster.

And he's already done been signed.

That would have been great to watch Bolt run a million miles an hour on a go route into the tunnel like Forrest Gump while Tebow hits a cheerleader in the head with a pass
