No mention of the absence of Fireman Ed and, along with him, the J-E-T-S chant?

We all know that's the real reason for this piss-poor season.

here are the responses from someone who actually still shows up and sits right by gate d

    1) i gotta agree with you here. i think if you are gonna not use them at least give them to a fan. i have been eating average 3 tixs a week just cuz i dont want to see visiting fans take over.
    2) they do but if you are a real fan you at least try to get them in a jet fans hands
    3)you have to care
    4) touche'. well at least woody's cheap ass doesnt
5)this is true. when they are good decent people actually want to come
6)not this bad. well, maybe in arizona or houston or san fran
7)use a different route. there are like 9 different ways out of the place
8)woody sucks. plain and simple. you knew he wouldnt pull it off just like he cant give his former stars a decent sendoff ceremony
9)they can show what they want. they get thrown out for doin it anyway. i know, i have seen many girls get thrown out and the press grossly exaggerated that story
10)it is. and if you are dumb enough to walk into the pit at halftime then you should get beer put on you. if you need the money then get a job. besides that shit stopped years ago
11)shit dont pay double i got extra tickets gimme a call and get off your lazy asses. actually, dont cuz you are all just soft internet wuss fans that cant handle the down times that true fans have sadly had to deal with more times than the good times
12)no, it did. and curtis deserved better from the fans and the organization. theres no excuse for this
13)of course we werent. we were simply cheering for clemens
14)no its a myriad of problems
    15) read 14

you didnt hear about it cuz the team was winning. when there is good news there are good stories. when its all losing, the press just throws more shit on the pile to make things worse cuz they suck ass. and just so you know it was going on back then

I know it was going on back then. I have been going since 1980 and have seen much worse!

Yeah, I remember that and you're right, it stopped years ago. Actually, it was brought on more by a small, select group of exhibitionists who obviously didn't mind getting beer dumped on them.

But I have to say that in my section, for the most part, this article doesn't ring true and you wouldn't know any of this is going on unless you read it in the papers.

Which leads me to believe that while you can always find adolescent, disruptive morons in any group anywhere, it's as bad an idea to paint all Jets fans as being this as it would be to paint any ethnic or religious group with the same, broad brush. "All (fill in the blank)s are irresponsible low-lifes," etc.

In fact, for the most part, and from my experience in the stands since 1985, I can tell you that MOST Jets fans are good people and don't want to see all this other bullshit. Most of them go to the games (with other family or kids or friends) and go there to enjoy watching the game and rooting for the Jets, not to make intoxicated assholes of themselves.

So I have to disagree with the intent of the article, which IMO attempts to target ALL Jets fans as irresponsible and categorize and label ALL Jets fans that way. That's never been my experience and I've been going to Jets games for a very long time.
