I just shot a load reading that.... how did the Jets get so lucky finding this guy? rex has built more confidence in 4 games than the previous 3 coaches did in 9 years.

Anyone still upset we didn't "try hard enough' to beg Cowher out of his hiatus to coach us?

It is incredible because the Jets' flirtations with Cowher over the offseason couldn't be furthest from my mind until you just mentioned it. I think we ended up with the right guy although I think Cowher would have done a pretty good job too.

Maybe, but keep in mind he didnt exactly have great success in his first few years with the Steelers. I think we bagged our guy. I havent seen Jets fans this pumped up on a weekly basis in over 30 years. Now I know why players Love to play for him.

Wow, I forgot about the whole Cowher thing here (mainly because I never particularly cared or thought it would ever come to fruition). Looks like we made the right choice!

Well, there might be a handful of Ryan-era bandwagoners. You can never be too sure.

The best part of that presser from a game plan stand point was what he said about respecting our passing game.

He mentioned the fact that if they don't respect us and crowd the box we will go outside. Which should loosen up the run game.

I agree NY Sack Exchange7. I think I should have phrased it as Cowher would have done well eventually, but I have a feeling he would not have been able to do what Ryan has done especially with this defense.

Then again, Cowher's hiring would have meant a completely different roster than what this team has now, so who knows how things would have turned out. You could assume right off the bat that the Jets would have not have gotten Edwards, Scott, Leonard, Sheppard (maybe), Sanchez, etc.

In the end, it doesn't matter. I'm real happy with Rex, and I'm excited for this year and beyond.

It's the Jets, we're not supposed to have bandwagoners.

we didnt get that lucky with Ryan. we got some luck that Baltimore didn't hire him in stead of Harbaugh. Or that Brett Favre collapses at the right time for us to fire Mangini, and that Harbaugh gives Ryan permission to interview us before the divisional playoff game so that we knew he was our guy?

Ok nevermind, we got lucky as fuck, everything broke our way, its about damn time.

Oh and Rex is going to be great in NY for a very long time!!
