I don't have a problem with the Scott kicking call. If you see a player appear to put his shin on another player who is down on the ground and then that player is apparently moved by the impact you throw the flag. The point is not to split hairs and try to figure out if the offending player meant to do it or not, the point is to put the onus on the opposing player to NOT contact an already downed player with their leg unless they have no other option. Scott clearly could have avoided that contact and should have. Same for the Sheppard penalty, he put his hands on the receiver outside of the 5 yard zone as the receiver was going by. That's a penalty called Illegal Contact and the officials got it right. The Jets are clearly being aggressive on defense, and that's a great thing to see, but it will cost them penalty yards now and then.
Perfectly stated. Play of the day. I've never applauded a quarterback for taking a sack, but that was the play to make.
