    Patriots are the Yankees (and I'm a Yankee fan) of the late '90s early '00s. The successful teams were hungry for success and a lot of the players had something to prove. The longer in the tooth they got, and the more new players they brought in, the less successful they were in completing the job.

    While I still respect the Pats and can't argue with their success, they've definitely become a victim of their own success. Do you think Deion Branch drops those two balls that Caldwell dropped. I don't think so. You can play hardball all you want, Belichick and Pioli, but it came back to bite you in the ass.

    by the way, if this was the pats collapse? what do we call the jets two missed field goals againts Pittsburgh in the playoffs??? any ideas?
