They did change...they got points on the board...they played defense. They did not get a win, but progress is progress.

7 to 9 wins. It isn't the offense that caps us it is the run defense. The offense can be managed by covering up the flaws with decent game planning. You cannot cover up the kind of deficiency against the run that the Jets have right now. You need better players.

The Jets did good tonight considering the flaws in the talent. If they play like this every week they'll get to the top of the 7 to 9 win range.

The offense does kind of cap us when at least half our passes are incomplete or intercepted.

I wish Sanchez could throw to a wide open reciever streaking down the field deep. He just does not have an NFL arm. Cromartie was WiiiiDE open. He sucks at finding a passing lane, a must for a short QB like him. His release is too low for a short QB. I had to laugh in his post game presser when he was saying "we have to find a way to keep their arms down."

    Wh-at?

Hopeful? Yep, as hopeful as a devout christian in the forum before being eaten by lions.

    This is the realistic approach.

He's right about the Jets o-line needing to keep people's arms down. That's a skill the Jets have not shown recently and it's particularly apparent at LG and RT. The Jets are not physical enough in pass protection, mainly because they're so worried about getting beat. They play tentative.

Freaking JJ Watt was like a volleyball player out there tonight. He was getting extension on every pass in his range, like 9 feet off the ground extension with his reach. The first time he did that the guy blocking him should have taken his legs out from under him and had him come down hard on his ass. That would have ended the Leaping Larry routine that went on all night. It only takes one hard landing on the turf to make the point.
