Bosko the jets stunk because as a team we sucked down the stretch. Our qb, wrs, oline, defense, coaching staff, the only consistant thing we had was our running backs which for some reason were used very sparingly towards the end of the year. I do not need the media to tell me what I've been watching for 16 games. When your team does well, fans for the most part are happy and have little to complain about. When the team plays bad every wants to point fingers and pass the blame. I'm sure players have those same emotions so these stories do not suprise me nor did the ones about how much favre lifted the team when we were winning.
I did not blame Favre for everything ever, I said he sucked which he did, do yourself a favor and look back at the post you quoted me on and replied to. I simply stated that Chad did not have to become a deity over the summer since he won 10 games with us in '06, which is more than we won this year with 7 pro-bowlers. Don't worry about my education and ignorance learn how to comprehend and capitalize the first letter in your boys name.
fact is mangini did not do a good job, his head was called for by alot of people. fact also is that favre didnt do a good job, a number of people are not very happy with him right now. although there is far less outcry for his head than there was for manginis. personally, i thought the favre move was a good one. i also think that he was allowed to bring some of the same issues he had in green bay to new york. he hasnt been a great team mate in quite some time and there have been numerous things just like are coming out right now about him for a number of years from team mates. the FO and CS should have known better than to let him create a rift in the locker room. do i want to see favre back next year, not particularly. i surely dont want to see him make any difference in the hc that is brought in. i DEFINITELY dont want to see shotty here simply because of favre. but if he comes back i will hope he leads this team to the superbowl. however i right this moment dont see it happening. and my opinion is that favre will now ride off into the sunset, without a care in the world about the jets.
Lol, damn I didn't capitalize. Who helped you type that reply out? How many edits did it take? Every thread you post in you bash "Favre" so yeah you do blame him for every thing. - will go ahead and stop replying to your bs because you post arguments like a 13 year old. And he's not my boy. I simply place blame where it should be placed. You still can not seem to comprehend this. Post away 1 sentence wonder.
Basically, what you are saying is that you don't need to learn anything. That it's OK if you are ignorant of any facts about the team. That if, perhaps, the HC had handcuffed his coordinators, that you would rather not know about it. You'd rather just say "The team stinks" or whatever. That's fair enough. But this is a fair request in return: Please do not post a message suggesting that you are an informed fan. Deal? Because you'd rather stay ignorant.
Every thread I post in does nothing but make excuses for his sorry play. Someone has to tell it like it is, we can't all be queer.
WAH WAH WAH This team went from a 4-12 losing season to a 9-7 winning season in one year but the little babies of the forum are crying because we did not turn into a SB contender overnight. For those who want to bring up Miami as an example of what can happen in one year; please let me remind you that that type of team turn around has only happened "TWICE" in NFL history (The 1999 Colts being the other team to accomplish this feat). With the above being said, "A two year Plan" for this team with Brett as the QB to see how far they could go; is a much more reasonable game plan than than crying for heads to roll after only one year !!!
Determination#4, Brett Favre couldn't last 1 year...you want to see how good he is next year? WOW. Just WOW.
16 years as a Jet you hammer? I recall the Jets getting him in august 2008....and he was pretty brutal as a QB all season outside a few games.
I'm not at all surprised that this post has been up for more than 14 hours but has not been quoted or mentioned - it makes far too much sense. Most especially, I could not agree more with what I bolded above. There was no reason to fire the coordinators until a new coach is picked, but my attitude is that they should consider themselves as no more entrenched than any possible coordinator who is out there. The same is true for Favre - if the next head coach doesn't want him here, he's gone without a second thought. There is no one on this team (player or coach) who gets to point fingers at anyone, or claim the right to say "It's all their fault" - they all stunk when it counted.
I can't wait till Favre decides to retire so the Brett Favre cheerleaders leave- this guy is if I remember one of the founders of a site to bring Favre back to Green Bay. There's a few ex-Packer fans that seem to get it and take a realistic view of Favre but there's a vocal number of delusional Favre fans that think he's still got it. They also are notorious for creating reasons why Pennington isn't successful. It must hurt so much to see Favre stink 3 out of the last four years. Just another pathetic part of the Jets history- I'm gonna love whatever coach comes here and tells Favre to stay the hell away. TJ is already my hero.
No bosko, I'm far from ignorant. After spending 6 years in the military I've learned that the media spins things to make for a better story. And noone is informed as to what actually goes on in that locker room except for the people in there. You can believe every thing the media tells you if u want, me? I know better. As for the rest of your rambling, the hc is gone. So what he did doesn't mean anything at this point, unless u created a time machine? No, ok. If you know something the rest of us do not then please, do tell. Do not reply to my post if you do not have anything useful to say or just to ramble on.
Trust nothing you don't see first hand, especially if you hear something from the media. The unfortunate thing is you never know what parts are real, and what is stretched, or plain made up.
Hello, Phear??? WTF? Does "Six years in the military" makes you some kind of a football expert? Look, I respect our military experience and all, but... If anything, your military training betrays you. Maybe you can buy a used car from Dick Cheney or something... Meanwhile, we have this team called the Jets who play football in the media capital of the world, a little place called New York City. And we have the finest sports reporters in the world! If you can't read and respect what someone like Rich Cimini (or Mark Cannizarro) has to say about the New York Jets, when their occupation involves following the Jets 24/7, and being objective, and reporting the truth? Then maybe you need to follow a different team. And that goes for the rest of you who mistrust the media in New York City. Also, as usual the "stories from the locker room" are mostly backing up what the local media has had to say... As a New York City resident, I have to say that we have the best newspapers, the best sports teams, the best local TV news, the best restaurants and the best EVERYTHING in the world! So any of you who don't like new York City? Please. Go find a different sports teams to root for. NEW YORK CITY RULES!!! OK?
