Every year the QB numbers go up. It's a product of the rules changes. A few years ago we had our first 4000+ season by a QB, but in that same season there were actually 4 QBs that threw for 4k. Manning just does it better in the regular season than any other quarterback. I wouldn't be surprised if he threw for 6000 yards before he retired. The rules are making it easier to put up gaudy numbers, and the best QBs in the game are taking advantage of it. But since you seem intent on making an argument that a system has made Peyton's recent success, I'll let you explain the exact facets of that system and why it's not the talent of that QB putting those stats on the board. I'll be waiting.
Like I said for a millionth time now: Sanchez's failure is more or less the failure of this franchise more than anything. They stripped him of protection, safety net AND viable weapons, one at a time. Imagine what it would have been like to actually let this kid sit for a year, and 1. DRAFT KEY PIECES AROUND HIM and 2. DRAFT SOME FUCKING PASS RUSHERS. We could have been talking about Championship run by now. Instead - as if that was not enough, Sanchez had to suffer the ineptitude that is Brian Schottenheimer. Tell me exactly when Schotty's offense looked good ever. His offense NEVER looks good even with HoF QB running the show. With mere mortals at QB? His Rams logged less yardage than the Jets last season. That's a difficult feat to achieve, man. You've got a lot to thank to Brian Schottenheimer and Mike Tannenbaum, people. These two fucking morons... UGH!
Dont worry, this thing is about to come full circle. Sanchez is about to embark on an odyssey of a lifetime this season in 2014.
Yeah, fuck you, I was thinking about Marino's single season record, and yeah, I was taking out of my ass. Sue me, counselor.
You can wait until the Zetas China and out me to sleep, your argument is fucking retarded. Peyton Manning has never been and will never be the product of a system, and you trying to argue that makes you look stupid.
His system took him to another level last season, thats the truth. He was always very great, last year he was unreal.
Did you not watch the offense he operated in last season or did you not watch the offense he operated in last season?
I'm giving you the opportunity to educate me in the face of my ignorance. What system did Denver run last season that made Peyton so successful? Don't run like a coward, tell me what you know.
You bring a bucket, I'll bring a pole You bring a bucket, I'll bring a pole We'll go down to tha crawdad hole toniiiiight
I love when people bring up all-time greats like Peyton and Marino as an argument against another QB's success. It's like the Knicks fans that hate on Melo for not being Lebron. It's letting the perfect be the enemy of the good at it's finest. If you can pair a good QB with the right system to yield the same kind of success you would if you had a true franchise QB what does it matter that your QB is really not "great"? There many ways of winning. Ideally you'd love to have the Rodger, Brady, Manning type but until you have that guy there is no shame in winning with a system guy.
Soxxx, you don't know anything about football. Same with basketball. Thanks for confirming that, though. Liar.
You know nothing about football, if you are that oblivious to the system he played in then I am sorry. You clearly have absolutely no clue about NFL offenses and how the Broncos offense last year was different than any NFL offense in recent history.
