I don't think people really understand what we had when Keller and Holmes got hurt adding to the tebow mess and Sparano.
It was the worst offensive unit I have seen in my entire life time. There was nothing, the guys we had would be lucky to make other teams around the league (other than Kerley).
Insurmountable. He seems to be playing better under Kelly than he ever played here. Interested to see where he goes to start next year. _
we'll see what happens w/ Foles, if he gets hurt I think mark will step in and play great. if not, I think he will be signed somewhere to compete as a starter next year. Miami if Tannehill fails again Ten Hou Dal if Romo can't come back fully healthy TB SL
I'm guessing Arizona. Dallas would be a hoot. Tannehill scares me, if they straighten out their O-line, he might turn it around this year. _
Here is the thing. He didn't control the things that he could control at all. He could've been one of the bright spots on the team but instead he was one of the problems. Chaz wasn't the reason Sanchez was inaccurate and made poor decisions with the ball.
But he wouldn't be historically bad either. No one is saying that he had to turn Gates into a pro bowler. No one is saying the team should've made the playoffs. It's obvious the talent wasn't great but he should've been one of the bright spots like Wilkerson was a bright spot, like Landry, like Cromartie, like Kerley, Powell. Instead Mark was clearly apart of the problem.
Tannehill has ability and they have weapons but they had weapons last year and while the Ol wasn't very good they weren't as bad as most think especially the 2nd half of the year where they were actually pretty good. their OL dominated our DL in both games and Ryan stunk in both. No one was winning w/ that talent. it was an awful year all around and Mark was a reason it was awful. he didn't have to be as bad as he was but he didn't have a chance to succeed. he wasn't historically bad. how is a QB supposed to be a bright spot w/ that talent, the Tebow nonsense and Sparano?
Unless you're Peyton, Brady or Rodgers you weren't going to get much out of that group. However that is not the point. Cut out the Sparano excuse. Kerley was a bright spot and he also had the same coaches Sanchez had and the same distractions Sanchez had to deal with. What we should be saying is despite the lack of talent and Tebow Sanchez still was able to put together a solid season. Instead it was as clear as day that Sanchez was part of the problem and not the solution.
Concur. It's probably not going to be Tenn or Houston. TB is a possibility, I don't think they look at Glennon as the answer. _
I don't see any team from the AFC West in need of a QB solution. AFC North - No. AFC South - No. AFC East - Jets, Dolphins MAYBE AFC West - No. NFC West - Rams NFC South - N/A NFC East - Cowboys if Romo has recurring back issues NFC North - N/A The options aren't as good as last year for Mark unfortunately. The Eagles is his best bet right now. A lot of young QBs sitting on the bench right now without an opportunity.
Peyton has never not had top 10 weapons by the way. you think Kerley and sanchez played under the same pressure? same expectations? that changes quickly.
I would love for Sanchez to get to Houston, it sucks they signed Fitzpatrick only for Mark to get released like 3 days later. We all know Fitzpatrick will fold up so the Houston spot could really open up. Obrien knows offense it seems so if he ended up there I would trust the staff.
That is true but you really never know. Anyone could get injured in an instant, including Foles (who missed time last season).
He's an elite QB and he's made average receivers into weapons. No Sanchez and Kerley didn't have the same pressure. But Kerley performed well despite the stuff going on around him. He can't use the excuse of bad QB or Tebow or Sparano. He controlled what he could control.
he has never made average receivers into weapons, he gets credit when it happens but he has been surrounded by elite talent since day 1. Players that have succeeded w/ and w/o him.
