Ahhh just as expected. It's amazing the compulsion with some of you to shit on an ex-Jet. BTW, I'm a Rex and Idzik fan so I'll continue to post about them. I think video games are stupid so do you know what I don't do? Post in the video game thread. _
If you want to start a thread about any ex-Jet, or ANY NFL player in the NFL Forum, feel free. It's the NFL Thread and it's clearly marked. If you think the thread doesn't have a "point", here's an idea, don't click on it. _
It's not enough that he's gone, some folks have an obsessive compulsion to bury him. I guess that's fine. Btw, before you start another thread, you might want to check in with other posters to see if it's ok. _
i'm just busting your balls. You guys want to have a Sanchez love fest, fine, but you can't expect others to not give you shit about it. Darrelle Revis played his position better than anyone in the league in his time here and it's free reign to talk smack about him. I wouldn't start a thread in the NFL forum dedicated to him and then cry when people start talking shit. Mark Sanchez was a high draft pick that turned out to bust here, not even at half the level of Revis and yet there is a thread dedicated to him.. What do you guys expect? It's "obsessive compulsion" to use your words to give him the same treatment?? I personally don't give a shit how he does in Philly or anywhere. Good for him if he turns out to have a nice long career. Who cares.
he was definitely favoring his shoulder late in 2010, I think he reinjured it late in 2011 but he played through it. played well in 2010 postseason, played poorly to end 2011. except he wasn't a bust here, he was very successful. franchise leader in playoff wins.
I wasnt neccessarily impressed with most of the throws posted earlier. They werent bad by any means, just nothing special. The second throw posted I think it was, was a great great throw. It seems like he's healthy and in a favorable offensive system with good weapons. Its a shame the Jets couldnt give him more to work with. Moving on from Mark was 100% the correct decision, he was not a capable QB his last two years with the Jets. His confidence was shook and the Jets didnt do him any favors. Most knew that in the right situation Mark could succeed. He's now in that situation. Was this against the 1's or 2's?
Bernie Williams has more homers in the playoffs than Babe Ruth. And he had to play against the coloreds.
I think Mark would trade having to win 3 playoff games to get to a SB on the road w/ needing just one home game to get to the SB like the QB that made it.
I think Foles is the clear #1, Mark is clear #2 and Barkley the #3. Any could step in and lead Kelly's offense to success. That is a rare thing in the NFL.
Yep, Sanchez deserves his own thread because he did mean a lot for the Jets. People can say we would have gone further if we had a better QB but I disagree, we were in both title games and our QB played as good as anyone else on the team (other than Revis). So throwing Rivers in there, or any other name doesnt mean we get to where we got. Some times less is more, Sanchez didnt light up the scoreboard but he didnt cost his team like guys like Rivers, Dalton and even Peyton Manning have in the biggest games of the year. I still believe we would have won a Super Bowl with Sanchez had we continued to put quality pieces around him, like the Ravens did for Flacco for 5 straight years, like the Steelers did for Ben. You notice when the talent dropped off on the Ravens and Steelers they havent done anything, well same applies for Sanchez, the talent clearly dropped off (everyone was saying it in the preseason before the 2011 and 2012 season. Do you not remember the death blow when Nnamdi didnt come here? The moment that happened I knew we were in trouble because we spent so much time chasing him and watched quality guys go elsewhere...and yes I am aware Nnamdi declined when he went to Philly but it may have been the system, but if he was here on the Jets he would have had Revis taking out the #1 reciever.)
neither had Chaz Schilens starting. Both guys still had decent talent, Mark had the worst talent in the league around him w/ Tony Sparano running the show and tim tebow as a sideshow.
This is true, but at the end of the day - the things Mark could control on the field (decision-making) he failed. The Jets also did a dis-service to Mark as well. The kid needed a new start and he looks revived in Philly.
Late in the 3rd quarter, the Jets defense (having yielded 3 measly points up to that point) then allowed the Patriots to score only their "11th" point of the game *11 points* and you're inferring the defense was not holding the fort?...that they were not holding up their end of the bargain? C'mon, are you serious? As you can see from my previous post (at top), I'm not a 'hater' per se. Conversely I'm not going to play the devisive "blame the defense" card given their "5-sacks-of-Brady" overall performance that day. Sanchez had his best game as a Jet as he put together a full 4 quarters of solid play and along with that the defense more than did their job.
The D blew many games and didn't step up in many big spots but they more than did their job against NE that Jan 2011 day. That was a total team effort that day and the D was outstanding, unfortunately it didn't carry over to the next week.
Flacco was pretty bad last year, maybe not as bad as Sanchez but Sanchez lost his recievers, Oline, run game, all at once. Flacco still had a little to work with, but if you put Flacco in the 2012 Jets offense he is not winning many games at all.
