To bad the Qb is the most important position on your team by far, you can win with this Defense but a great qb will make up for alot that Sanchez lacks. And getting Manning we might as well have no oc whatsoever so theres goes 1 of your needs out the window.
Hell still be back and the Vikings wont give up on him for free. And Manning has already recovered. Its business as usual for him.
Not to change the subject but I really hope he gets to play again that can be a career ender right there and hes one of my favorite backs in the league.
But Aikman was much better than Sanchez. We should get him now, while he can be had. He knows how to win SBs. And as far as you are concerned, past performance is everything, unless it comes down to Sanchez, then all that matters is your perception of his last game.
Are you seriously comparing Aikman at 50 to Manning at 35 your arguments are getting ridiculous. Stop acting like Manning is some has been please. The sooner you stop acting like Manning is some washed up has been who is coming off 4 bad years the more credible you will sound. I guess you would of rather had Sanchez then Brady coming off a serious knee injury to right. But then again I bet you are happy with the Jets not winning the superbowl in the last 40+ years to.
Just trade for him. He'll never come cheaper. Can you imagine this offense with Manning coming off that neck injury and Peterson coming off that knee injury. The Jets will be unstoppable!!!
If Manning is fully recovered already like you say he is what the hell makes you think the Colts are letting him go when they paid him 28m this year even though he didn't play a single snap.
You still don't get it. With the injury to his neck, there is a very strong possibility Manning is a has been or will never come close to being the player he was. Still, he will command $15-20 million a year. It is just not worth the risk. That is the whole point of those in this thread that disagree with you. If the Jets could get Manning of 3-4 years ago, I could see your point. But they can't. Instead, you want to mortgage the future on an old injured player. It is a very stupid personnel move.
Only because they can draft Luck and even the Colts realize you can't tie up that much money in the QB position.
With the new CBA its more then possible for them to keep both Manning and Luck though. Rookies do not make nowhere near as much as they used to.
Okay and the lack of speed on defense and the RT? Lets just leave Manning coming off a season long injury out there with Hunter and hope he can take hits. Great plan. Also, we still need some type of offensive coordinator to pick plays from. Manning can audible so much since everyone knows the plays, we can't expect him to get in the huddle, call a play, and audible like he loves to do without an OC with an established playbook. Then we can get in shootouts with other teams as their tight ends run wild. QB is a very important position, but many recent superbowls have been won with decent qb play. Ravens, Brady in 01, Bucs overall were good, especially defense, Steelers in 05 (refs), Giants in 07, Manning in 06.
Until the Jets get a new OC, a new offensive system, fix the holes in the OL, get some speed at WR, and plug the huge hole in the defense at safety, we won't know. Sanchez deserves a chance to play under a different system with a different OC. Schotty is a known QB killer. Just look at how Pennington and Favre performed under Schotty and elsewhere and it is obvious that Schotty is death to QBs. Plus, the OL has been horrible this year compared to past years. Every lineman has had a worse season than in 2010. Every one.
Yeah but Sancehz would be one wasted first round pick and Manning could be 2-3 and leave us in worse shape. Worst case scenario with Sanchez is in two years we don't renew his contract but our picks have been used to bolster our weaknesses and create depth on the team.
I swear I'm not a grammar nazi, but it's either: would have rather OR would've rather. We've got to maintain some basic level here, or else the whole interweb goes to hell.
Exactly, you don't need a fucking superstar QB to win Superbowls, for as much hype as Troy Aikman got he had a very mediocre 165 TD's to 141 INTs but who really cares because he WON. Which is what our QB is doing right now so lets fix the REAL problems on this team.
