http://sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=globe&page=nfl/draft/2006/mockdraft.aspx You can argue value and need all you want the fact is the Jets have been week up the middle on D and don't have a legitimate proven strong safety. What the Jets did in this draft is pick players that will allow them to shore up the lines to allow them to do the very basic run and stop the run. Giles would have been an obvious pick but clearly he scared off most of the league with his work habits and the Jets aren't in a position to take a chance on another Pouha type of pick. The Jets seem to be desperate for playmakers but they have some young skill guys at CB and safety and they picked two guys in the 4th and 5th round with some play making potential on O. Overall the Jets seemed to draft with a purpose for the first time in years. They also got a nice 2nd round pick which they can use to draft a potential playmaker next year. I don't think the team is done by any means but over all the nitpicking on value in round 3 is simply premature at this point. I might add you have a much better shot at finding a gem of a tuxedo at Goodwill or the Salvation Army than you will every find in Wallmart.
Since when is the draft a popularity contest? This is the NFL, not a high school gym class where all the popular kids are picked first. Your opinion is being completely swayed by a major corporation/network. Stop being so gullible. Bottom line, you take whoever you feel will make your team a winner. You DO NOT draft a player based stictly on his popularity with ESPN. Tangini interviewed and scouted 450 players, and according to your beloved "experts", they had a great draft. Give them the benefit of the doubt.
