I like how the jets completed several big time screens. Something that couldn't be said about you know who.
i agree completely. i do worry that this game, like you say, could be an outlier. not that geno will start making a ton of mistakes. but in regard to the team overall. i expect a little bit of a letdown on thursday so i think it will be a good challenge for geno - assuming they lose - to see how he bounces back. sorry to be getting a little ahead of things. just my thinking. i am very encouraged by what i saw. geno looks more real right now than sanchez did in 2010...
Overall he played much better than the Giants game for sure, teams are going to continue to blitz him constantly though since he's a rookie so he needs to get used to that. He throws a good ball tuough I wish he would stop staring down receivers its a terrible habit. The poise he showed this game gave me a lot to be excited about. Another thing I loved and Rex also talked about was him running when nothing was there. Sent from my HTCEVODesign4G using Tapatalk 2
totally. the whole stadium, including the bucs, knew immediately that it was a penalty. say what you'd like about the rule, but the simple fact is that you don't touch a q-b out-of-bounds. this is not new. no one was surprised. and there were plenty of unexpected plays which could have won the game on both sides. this was a good win. the better team today was the jets, marginally.
I'm excited about what I saw from Geno, but i'm taking this one game at a time. I'm not gonna be a prisoner of the moment. I'm enjoying the win and I think Geno has a lot of potential and I hope he gets better in week 2.
This is a good process. I think the main positive is that Geno remained poised after making mistakes and being down late in the game, that Geno was good picking his spots when to run, and that Geno looked better than his preseason performance. Overall still a long way to go to know if he'll be here for years or not, but it is encouraging he looked good.
Well Geno does give us the best chance to win  It's kind of ridiculous that he was able to help pull out a win there. Not the easiest of spots to be thrown to into your first game
They're saying the same thing about Martin getting shut down on the Bucs forum. Fact is that this was a defensive battle between two teams that are beasts at stopping the run.
One thing that might have help set up the late hit at the end of the game... Earlier in the game, the D assumed he was going to go OOB just short of the 1st down marker, and he cut it up field and got an extra few yards when the 2 defensive players let up. So at the end, the LB didn't want that to happen again so he made sure he got him OOB
I agree 100%. I liked that he got better as the game progressed, he was poised, and calm despite the Bucs nasty pass rush. This is only 1 game and I hope he builds on this promising showing.
