No worries after all the int's in training camp and pre-season he will be riding the pine with that stupid look on his face. Fitz is still not healthy so of course he's the starter. Might not be a bad third option though. A QB can make receivers look good but Geno can't make anyone look good. It would take 5 ten foot tall receivers that can run a 4.0 / 40 to make him look even average.
We all love reading good things about our Jets. Unfortunately after two years of getting bitch slapped with Geno I'm sick of reading about his upside.
problem with starting Smith is we are at best a 9-7 team, hoping to win a tie breaker for the 6th seed. How many games can we afford to lose with Smith before switching to Fitz and still have a shot of saving the season?
It's just hard to envision Geno Smith playing anything above average at this point, hopefully the leash is very short
Not a nice story about geno. But it makes sense. http://www.jetnation.com/2015/06/25...id=276092.12511.2856&cmpid=emc:fscom:nfl_jets
so you dont want him to have to throw as much, but point to the sample of him throwing alot as the time when we "werent out of the picutre" yet? to claim any of geno's struggles were due to us putting too much on his shoulders is insnae. we ran it a ton, and we didnt ask alot of him
This is true of 2014. In 2013 the supporting cast sucked and Rex did his usual heavy-handed muddling through a young QB's struggles thing. 2014 was definitely bad though. People who think Geno was doing ok at the start of the season haven't really looked at the Jets offense in that time period. They scored 4 TD's in FIFTY drives after the first quarter in Green Bay. That's when the season went south.
