You really think Geno is surrounded by top tier talent? Really?

    . . . Really?

Jet fans deserve this mess for being jet fans.

I already addressed this. He's got some really good weapons on offense. So, yes or at the very least well above average.

Top tier may be stretching it a bit but compared to what Mark had in 2012 it's elite talent. we have above average weapons for the QB, this is the most talented offense we have had since 2010.

For the record, I think Geno sucks and I never want to see him start another game for this team.

Having said that, I don't see how Geno has had anywhere near "top tier" talent around him. That's an absurd statement. He had Percy for one game, and even with Percy, the Jets overall offensive weaponry is probably only average or slightly above average. The phrase "top tier" has no business being in the same book, let alone the same sentence, as the Jets offense.

Before Percy, no where near above average. So maybe for one game . . . maybe.

even before Percy. Decker alone was the best WR we have had since 2010/2011(when Holmes was at his peak).

Decker, Amaro, Ivory, Chris Johnson, Kerley and now Harvin are extremely good players. Sanchez would have us fighting for the playoffs with those guys. They are definitely top level talent. We have not had these kinds of weapons since 2010. Our OL is weak though, but we have some good offensive weapons for Geno.

Decker hasn't been fully healthy, and even when he is, he is a solid WR. Nothing more. And saying he is the best overall WR we have had since Holmes circa 2010/2011 is definitely true but doesn't change the reality that we probably had below average offensive talent before Percy. We've had mediocre to poor WRs for years. We finally have "acceptable" WRs.

Chris Johnson is washed up. Kerley is one of the most overrated players on this message board. Decker is solid. Amaro has a LOT of potential but is still a rookie. Ivory is awesome. Harvin is very talented. Those aren't all "extremely good players." Overall, they are solid. And we've only had Percy for one game . . .

they are very good players. I think CJ's problem is that his entire game revolves around getting the ball in space, but defenses aren't afraid of Geno beating them downfield and are stacking the box. I was hoping to see Harvin get downfield and open things up underneath but Geno mashed that idea by throwing lollipop INTs.

Decker is very good, not great but very good. the guy we just cut would have been our #1 WR in 2012.

Still doesn't change the fact that we don't have "top tier" offensive talent. (and we weren't even close before Harvin)

it's better than average, it's enough talent to win with.

    1) With respect to CJ, I don't buy it. His running and overall movement has been very meh.

    2) Agree that Geno was/is garbage. But regardless, there are so many teams with better overall offensive weapons than us.

With Harvin, better than average. Without Harvin, not even close.

w/ or w/o Harvin better than average and again good enough to win with.

Teams with better offensive skill position players than us:

    Denver
    San Diego
    Indianapolis
    Cincinnati
    Baltimore
    Dallas
    Atlanta
    Detroit
    New Orleans
    Buffalo (When healthy)
    Chicago

If we compile this list before Harvin got here (i.e. our core for 7 out of 8 games so far), this list is considerably longer and probably includes:

    NYG (when healthy)
    Philly
    Washington
    Kansas City
    Houston
    Pittsburgh

And that's just off the top of my head.

No chance we are better than average without Harvin. That's just sublime silliness.
