We have so many damn coaching threads again that I have no idea where to post this but… What really worries me is that Gase was not well liked it all ny the Dolphins players. Is that who you want to go to the negotiating table with when you’re trying to bring in big time free agents? Drake, Landry, Grimes, Parker, etc. i’m sure word travels quickly around the players inner circles and that is absolutely going to come into play when we start looking at free agents.

Wait, is the return of Schotty actually a possibility?

Haven't heard anything. Just brought it up because someone said something in another thread that made me consider it.

Miami has played well under Gase with mediocre talent. It's not a flashy choice but he's had a competitive team in a division dominated by Brady and BB with pretty low level overall talent. Gase is the right age, he's just in his prime. I would prefer him to McCarthy.

Yet despite the fact he brought a bad team to mediocrity, ownership decided to move on from him because he completely lost the locker room and players didn’t like him. There couldn’t be a worse candidate for head coach given the current state of the franchise.

Ownership in Miami is Ross. Cleveland owner was called by Payton Manning who recommended Gase and he's going to get an interview at almost every opening. It was his first job. He's a very bright guy who has experience, some success with a crappy team and QB who couldn't stay on the field. He's going to get another shot. Saban recently said Miami would be wise to keep Gase.

Miami with a team that was predicted to be in the hunt for the No. 1 pick was in playoff contention in December. He wasn't fired for losing the locker room, he was fired for not making the playoffs with a team that couldn't stay healthy. Ross demoted Tannenbaum who had nothing to do with the locker room.

If they hire him I'm giving up my tickets and I'll be done with this franchise until there is a new owner.

I think this is more about the Jets doing their due diligence more than anything (or at least I hope)

Unfortunately there are no Parcells types.. the closest would have been Harbaugh, but seeeming less likely he is an option. The problem with that route though is in 3-5 years u are starting over...Again...

Well, you'll be six feet under or scattered on the wind because the Johnsons are never selling. :/

  13. Well im not so sure.Didnt quincy come out & say the team needed discipline above all else? Why would we be looking for another player’s coach with this in mind?

He Surely will have to answer for what happened in Miami during interviews & likely make some changes to how he conducts himself.

Im not saying hes the answer but i doubt anyones hiring him w.o a good explanation for what happened & changes hes going to make personally.

I’m surprised so many are against this hire. He checks the two most important boxes that most were looking for prior to Bowles getting fired.

I personally really like the idea of Monken the best with Gase/ McCarthy a toss up next. Kingsbury would be the go big or go home hire.

I wonder if the Jets will ask Gase during his interview if his mother was a prostitute.

Then the next year, his team turned into a total disaster on the field and off.

Of course he's going to get another shot. He's got enough high-profile advocates that he's going to get hired somewhere. But in reality, he's done nothing to warrant his status. He rode Peyton Manning's unreal career resurgence into relevancy and then did what? I know the Dolphins stink and Tannehill is a turd and they couldn't stay healthy, but the offense was STILL one of the worst in the league and some of the decisions the Dolphins made personnel-wise were mind-boggling. Bringing in Julius Thomas? Having Drake take a backseat to Gore? The pissing contest with Parker? A lot of what he did was stupid and it had nothing to do with what was around him.

The team absolutely needs discipline. I think there's a way to be a disciplined team but also not hate your coach. He deserves the chance to answer for what happened in Miami, but I also don't think he's going to change the way he conducts himself if he's been doing it one way for this long. If we hire him, I hope I'm wrong. I'd much rather just not hire him.
