yep, that was them..... near that section too. They'd blow whistles and throw out candy to get everyone's attention to do the chant. Then they'd try to compete with the other side of the stadium if they were louder...... I was a little guy at the time, but my uncle's seats were there back then (I believe also 315). no, it wasn't Ed anzalone, but I don't get the hate he gets either.....
I'm really not opposed to this or any other idea that provides the team w/ a positive home field advantage. For the life of me I don't understand why so many fans take exception to ideas like this one. That said I come from a different mindset than many. I don't care about tailgating, drinking or any other escapades. I'm solely interested in seeing the Jets win a football game..and if myself & the rest of the audience can help that cause..count me in.
So the Jets Front Office wants only 25% of fans chanting each letter. Are they trying to make it a shitty chant?
The only way someone can step up and take Fireman Ed's place, is if Fireman Ed shows up to a game and starts the chant, and passes the torch to the next guy when he's on the jumbo-tron. Something like taking his helmet off and crowning his successor.
315 was a corner, wasn't it? Pretty sure that's where my friend had season tickets. We used to have some Fireman Ed wannabe in that section.
