It just makes no sense me saying Bummer being funny. Then it rained the entire game. I don't get the humor. It was a bummer. Haha.
Late in the third qtr....OMG...sporadic raindrops. Thanks Christie! (He took credit about 90 minutes ago, while doubling down on his edict. Looking more like Rudy every day.)
They didn't move the game because of the weather! The reason they moved it to 2 pm in the first place was that they KNEW the weather wouldn't be bad at that time and that the hurricane wasn't expected to hit until late Sat night/Sunday morning. They moved the game because NY/NJ public transportation was shut down at 10 am Saturday, and with hundreds of thousands of people evacuating, it would have been too crazy with people trying to get to and from the game while that was going on, with no public transportation. And if the hurricane is going to hit at say, 8 pm ET tonight, you don't want people still stuck trying to get home because there's too much traffic.
Ummmm... Most people dont go Mass Transit. And, as I pointed out earlier, part of the issue, is going berzerk too far in advance. Game? What about all the people that paid money to go to NYC or the Shore, that are in effect, getting robbed. Over, what will likely be a tropical rain...?
I rented a shore house for this week. My home and vacation home were mandatory evaced. Now I'm in a hotel. ugh. Was really looking forward to some football and beers this afternoon. Anyway, was thinking of that old bears skit from SNL. Updated it a little: Patsfan1: If I may shift gears for a moment gentleman, Rob Gronkowski vs. The Hurricane, who would win? Other Patsfans: Gronk, Gronk!! Patsfan1: Hold on, Hold on, Hold on. The name of the Hurricane is Hurricane Gronkowski. (Patsfans look stumped)
About once every 5 years we get to see a football game being played in horrible, ungodly weather, be it huge snow squalls, torrential down pours, thick fog, you name it. This would have given BOTH team invaluable experience playing a good game in an honest to goodness hurricane/tropical storm. Every game played after that would seem mild. Black skies, swirling downpours, balls getting blown off the kicking tees, punts going for negative 20 yards, torrents of water getting blowing down the sidelines with mini waves, upper deck stairs turned into Niagara Falls, players sliding 20 yards creating their own wake like they're being towed by a jet ski. It would have been perfect, awesome, indescribable to watch all this from the warm comforts of my living room man chair. Damn the NFL. Damn them all.
^Yeah and all those potential injuries would have been really great experience. Should have played it yesterday in the AM, but the politicians had to make that difficult.
on a positive it gives the cs opportunity to see the ufa in game actions Thurs as they will play all 4 qtrs
