SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!! I'm arriving at 2pm Saturday......2-1/2 straight days of tail gating.......jets KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL g-girls monday night....it just don't get no better than this. Fk labor day wknd!!!!!!!!!!
They are moving the game because millions of people in the NY-NJ area are evacuating in advance of the storm and roads and bridges and highways will be packed and going only in one direction in some places. Plus, all mass transit is shutting down at noon. People will not be able to get to or from the game. You don't wait until a few hours before the storm hits to evacuate. Plus, there will be no police or troopers available for the game because they will be busy with other things. It has nothing to do with money. I can't believe you are trivializing this. Do you live in the path of this storm or are you just an internet big shot talking about something that won't even impact you? Have you ever been in a hurricane?
I can't believe you would stoop so low at to politicize a hurricane. That is pretty shameful. Typical though.
This sucks, total over reaction on part of Bloomberg. And honestly, its preseason football, unless there is lightning for sure, just play the goddamn game, theyre gonna meet in the regular season anyway. Would it be a huge hassle to attempt the game and if not then reschedule for monday?
Given my gran died yesterday, this works out for me, since I'm in no state to concentrate on anything today.
I'm sure that storm won't be as bad as the media has hyped it up to be BUTTTT these precautions are necessary I'm afraid. There is definitely going to be flooding making it impossible to have the game. Besides who wants to be stranding in the pouring rain for hours. If they did have the game and people got trapped with the roads flooded it would be a nightmare. (actually I might have a good time with enough food and alcohol but that's not the point lma0)
If it had nothing to do with money they would have just cancelled it. Who gives a rat's ass about a pre-season game anyway? Of course it's about money.
THis is not about safety. Storm has not made landfall yet. And Weather predictions, have been accurate.
Few, except those in flood areas will be evacuating anywhere. I've been living in Jays House of Weather for two days. The forecast, as of Yesterday afternoon, was significant weakening, prior to landfall, and landfall this morning, which as of now, has not happened yet. If, the hysteria was accurate, they were moving the game into the ???Aftermath??? when 10's of millions were supposed to be without power, or egress to attend the game. I live 15 miles from Manhattan. I work a stones throw from the Lincoln tunnel and the stadium (Harmon Meadow). I'm in the path. are you just an internet big shot talking about something whose facts you cant be bothered to look up? Here's the map That's Sunday, inNJ As I said, Yes, you'd lose some people bc of the Mass Transit shut down. (and the only highway shut down at that point is I95S at exit 68 which is south of Toms River) So, what we're left with, is, the entire NY viewing audience and 80% of the ticket holders (Which is to say those not coming via Mass Transit) that would have enjoyed the game on Saturday, having the game moved to Monday when they're supposed to be recovering from the wreckage. (and...Lets face it, if Weather Underground was reporting the significant weakening, at 4PM yesterday (Which to be fair was after Government decisions were made) the NFL had access to accurate weather reporting) But Hey, why quibble. I'll be here at 2 PM venting, we can discuss, the 'unsafe' conditions then.
