Agree ... Beningo's heart is in the place but sometimes he just can't let things go. I think he's probably more pissed that he has to put his Leon and TJ jerseys in mothballs now. Leon came off well, enjoyed his years here, was going to miss the friendships that he developed here though understand it was a business decision and it was time to move on ... I just wish Beningo would move on too!
leon is in jeporady of breaking his other leg just from kicking himself for turning down our $4M+/yr. oh, and for kicking his wife.
What does that have to do with her putting her foot in her mouth over a matter which her comments will only worsen? Ride or die dumbass is more like it. Bitch needs to know her role.
Benigno's expectations are completely shot. He can't get over us getting rid of mediocre players. It's sad, really.
Cimini Blog Former Jets running back Leon Washington, in his first New York-area interview since his trade to the Seahawks, didn’t take any parting shots at his old team. But he did give credence to a growing concern around the Jets _ team chemistry. “I’ve got a bunch of friends I talk to, a bunch of guys, and they’re excited about the new players they have coming in, but they do have questions about how well they will gel with the new people in the locker room,” Washington said Tuesday in an interview with WFAN. “Those guys are professionals and I’m sure they’ll handle it, but at the same time, it takes continuity and it takes time to build relationships.” The front office has unloaded several team leaders, including Washington, Alan Faneca and Thomas Jones. The Washington-Faneca bombshells left some returning players wondering if the organization, in its quest for a Super Bowl, had too much tampering with team chemistry. Washington, coming off a major leg injury, became expendable when the Jets traded up in the fourth round to select USC running back Joe McKnight. A short time later, they traded Washington and a seventh-round pick to the Seahawks for a fifth-rounder (Kentucky fullback John Conner). Washington said he “definitely wanted to stay” with the Jets. Being traded, he said, “adds fuel to my motivation.” Asked if he’s bitter toward the Jets, he replied, “I’d like to say, no, not at all, but it’s only natural for me to feel that way. If I didn’t feel that way, it would mean I didn’t have any feelings toward the Jets. Honestly, I’m kind of upset that I’m not going to be a Jet this year. But I’m looking forward to the opportunity I have in Seattle.” He also was asked about his wife’s post-trade comment on his Twitter page. When the trade went down, she tweeted, “Good Luck paying the 20 people due contracts @ the end of the season. Lol. Thank You Jesus for getting us out of here." “I have to agree with my wife, that’s my wife,” Washington said. “I didn’t like when she made that comment, but she cares so much about her husband, she cares so much about Leon. I told her, ‘You have to understand, it’s a business.’ I’m not the only one who feels this way. Look at Alan Faneca. Look at Thomas Jones.” It’s a business, all right, but the Jets are doing a lot more business than other teams.
We were in serious trouble to begin with if our team chemistry is based around the presence of 4 players...especially if one of them was the kicker.
Beningo is like an old lady, he wouldn't know what to do with himself if he nothing to complain about. He hated Rex last year and called him a fatso for opening his mouth and said it would be the end of the Jets. He never understood the genius that is Rex and that this is not the same old Jets, win or lose, we are going down fighting and screaming. According to Beningo, the season is over because we are on Hard Knocks. The guy is never happy. Leon was out 3/4 of the season and we made it to the Championship game, who much leadership could he provide??? Its just this... and I am sorry I don't mean to be a wise guy... but has this Met fan mentality that want's to fire a coach after 10 games which he did 2 weeks ago. Anyone that thinks like that, is not an intelligent fan, they take each game and make judgements based on that one game, the talk radio mentaility.
The rocks of this team are Sanchez, Mangold, Scott, Harris, Jenkins and Leonhard. Would you all agree?
 This season, Sanchez definitely should be. He's the QB and he is no longer a rookie. The kid gloves came off about a week after the Super Bowl. It's his team now and he better be ready.
I say out with the old and in with the new. The team chemistry will develop in training camp and these guys will realize what potential they have collectively to be great.
The whole point of going upstate for camp is to get team chemistry. When you got nothing else to do but hang out with teammates you'll gel.
Can Joe(Bozo) and Evan go follow the Giants, they are worst Jet fans. Just 2 miserable men that know nothing crying and complaining.
They suck, we could go 8-0 and bum me out on a Monday after a great win. Bunch of old ladies. And since when does a kicker who does lots of interviews and Twitts become a leader. The media just looks for things to bring down the Jets. The giants who signed one big free agent in a uncapped year, made no trade and draft was a joke with no LB or RB and some pass rusher who won't contribute for 2 years and they get a pass. People hate the Jets
Be thankful we have people who cover the Jets. Also what I've noticed is every single local station basically covers the giants for 10 minutes then the rest of the NFL discussion is strictly Jets. (thank god)
I'd rather have to complain about hot having enough Jets coverage than have to complain about Benigno & co. covering the Jets.
